The Digital Marketing & Communications Specialist plays a crucial role in developing and executing comprehensive digital marketing strategies to enhance the firm’s online presence, engage with its audience, and support growth objectives. Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, this role involves writing, editing and enhancing a variety of internal and external communications, including social media posts, award submissions, press releases, mailings, newsletters, digital platforms and web content, as well as facilitating the firm’s public profile and online presence.

 

Successful candidates will possess solid written and verbal communication skills and digital media aptitude. Comfort with various technologies and the ability to learn quickly is also desirable. This individual should exhibit excellent interpersonal and time management skills and display strong attention to detail.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Content Creation: In partnership with Business Development Managers, other business services departments and attorneys and through an understanding of the intricacies of the firm’s practices, industries and clients, help drive the creation of compelling content for various digital platforms, including website, social media posts and campaigns, newsletters and thought leadership summaries, ensuring it resonates with the firm’s target audience and enhances the firm’s brand.

 

Proofreading and Editing: Thoroughly proofread and edit all content (web announcements, client alerts, press releases, social media posts, internal communications, newsletters and memos, etc.) to ensure it is precise, accurate and adheres to the firm’s style guidelines.

 

Internal Communications: Work with the Senior Communications Manager and alongside other business services departments to develop internal newsletters, announcements, intranet posts and other communication materials to foster an engaging, cohesive and informed work environment.

 

Campaign Management: Oversee digital marketing campaigns to optimize performance from inception to completion, including planning, budgeting, execution, tracking, and analytics reporting

 

Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, digital marketing innovations, ethics rules and best practices to keep the firm’s digital presence competitive and effective, and in compliance.

 

Job Requirements & Skills

 

Experience: at least 5 years of experience in digital marketing and communications, preferably within a professional services or legal environment. B2B marketing knowledge a plus.

 

Skills: Proven expertise in managing digital marketing campaigns, content creation, SEO, SEM, social media, press releases, internal communications, and strong proofreading and editing skills (including working knowledge of AP style); working knowledge of video production; and visual design skills (including basic photography and use of Adobe Illustrator, Canva, etc.)

 

Tools: Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Ads) social media management tools (Sprout Social, Clear View Social), email marketing platforms, project management tools (e.g., Smartsheets, Asana), as well as Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and backend website and HTML basics (e.g. Kentico, WordPress).

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field; advanced certifications or coursework in digital marketing are a plus.

 

Attributes: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, strategic thinking, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment; team oriented; ability to collaborate with attorneys and business services teams at all levels (including senior partners and C-suite professionals).

 

Compensation range is $73,000 to $91,000 commensurate with related experience and qualification. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm’s reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
