The Director of Marketing Operations will oversee and enhance our marketing operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with our strategic goals. This role will lead a team driving the process development and implementation of business critical marketing operations including: promotional material review process, meetings management, field material management and speaker/patient ambassador programs.

The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of biotechnology and rare disease markets, with a proven track record of building successful marketing operations teams that meet internal and external customer needs. This position will report directly to the Vice President of US Marketing and be an essential part of the Marketing leadership team.

What You Will Contribute

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing operations strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and support the overall marketing plan.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve marketing policies, processes, workflows, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead the promotional/medical material review function including the team structure, organizational design, and resource management.
  • Partners with IT and digital marketing leads to optimize promotional material review for digital channels.
  • Oversee the print content lifecycle, including the implementation of fulfillment systems, creation of process documentation, and development of training materials, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements.
  • Accountable for speaker and ambassador program structure, design and field execution promotional/medical material review team structure, organizational design, and resource management.
  • Plan and execute high-profile meetings and events to ensure alignment with Avidity’s strategic goals.
  • Ensure the seamless integration and utilization of marketing technologies and the sales CRM systems to drive marketing performance.
  • Partner with brand leads, IT and the digital center of excellence to develop marketing performance metrics and KPIs. Monitor and analyze campaign performance, market trends, and competitive landscape to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Manage the marketing operations budget, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, and ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Support process audits and compliance discussions to help drive and measure policy adherence and maintain compliance standards.
  • Work closely with other departments, including sales, commercial operations, finance, legal and compliance to align marketing operations with broader organizational goals and ensure cohesive execution.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing operations team. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that drives growth and excellence.
  • Oversee relationships with external vendors and agencies. Evaluate and manage partnerships to ensure alignment with marketing objectives and optimal performance.

What We Seek

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing operations, with at least 6 years in a leadership role. Experience in the biotechnology or life sciences industry is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Biotechnology, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Launch experience with a history of building systems and processes from the ground up.
  • Experience with Veeva Vault PromoMats.
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and data analytics platforms. Proven track record in process improvement, strategic planning, and performance measurement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and seizing opportunities.

What We Will Provide To You

  • The base salary range for this role is $209,000 – $231,000. The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors.
