About the Position:

Anza seeks a Content Writer to join our growing renewable energy technology start-up and fuel sales growth and platform usage through research and compelling writing. This person will support these goals through mainly internal and some external client conversations and data collection, data analysis, writing, and measurement. This position also involves curriculum development for our Anza user in-person event.


This position will report to the Senior Director of Marketing and work collaboratively with the rest of the marketing team, as well as internal engineering and data stakeholders. It requires an excellent communicator and writer who is comfortable with the following:

  • Building & maintaining excellent relationships;
  • Producing topic ideas from internal and external meetings and discussions;
  • Extracting information from internal subject matter experts (SMEs); and,
  • Synthesizing complex topics and data and turning them into compelling and insightful stories;

We seek a candidate with experience in B2B marketing writing, covering technical topics, and conducting SME interviews, ideally in the renewable energy industry.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • Author insight articles, whitepapers, and other content for our platform user audience.
  • Analyze data and interview internal subject matter experts to produce content.
  • Sit in on relevant customer meetings to gather topics or insights.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Anza’s products and services, competitors, brand, value proposition, and the audiences we serve to create content that positions Anza as a thought leader and is aligned with our value proposition and brand.
  • Identify opportunities for visuals to complement written material, collaborating with designers and others to bring written ideas to life visually
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to access data on content performance, identify weak and under-performing content, and provide actionable recommendations for improving content quality
  • Lead the curriculum development for our in-person annual Anza platform user events. Manage speakers and content for the event, and produce content as necessary.
  • Effectively repurpose existing content into new formats to maximize the impact of each piece.

Internal communications & collaboration 

  • Solutions engineers: be the daily point person between marketing and the solution engineering team. Sit in sales and relevant customer meetings to identify new content to create and gain insights to write.
  • Data cross-functional team – be the marketing point person in these meetings to identify new content to create and gain insights to write.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing Managers to inform proof points and handle objections, create product launch and release content, and create influential blogs and collateral pieces to move customers along their buyer journey while raising awareness about Anza and our unique value proposition.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager to turn platform-exclusive pieces into higher-level pieces for our broad website audience.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 4+ years of B2B writing experience
  • 2+ years of solar & energy storage industry experience preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience synthesizing, simplifying, and presenting complex subject matter clearly and persuasively
  • Experience identifying the best topics to write about and maintaining a content calendar
  • Experience interviewing sources, conducting independent research, and implementing feedback
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills – proactive, clear, transparent communicator with the ability to work well cross-functionally and collaborate with leadership
  • Proven experience receiving writing or creative feedback well to learn and produce a better deliverable
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Experience producing content for speakers at a live event
  • Strong understanding of SEO concepts
