Central Willamette Credit Union
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Communications Specialist to join our Credit Union. This role is pivotal in creating, distributing, and managing internal communications as well as developing engaging marketing content aimed at solving financial challenges for both individual and business members.
The successful candidate will develop a wide variety of marketing content, including eBooks, white papers, webinars, live events, and other thought leadership content. This position requires strong communication skills, financial industry knowledge, expertise in change management, and marketing prowess to differentiate our brand, capture new prospective members, and ensure effective internal information flow.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Communications Management, in Partnership with HR:
- Develop and implement an internal communications strategy that promotes the CWCU brand, organizational goals, values, and culture.
- Ensure employees are informed and engaged.
- Synthesize feedback from engagement surveys and create opportunities to assess team member sentiment.
- Embed brand characteristics and values consistently into internal communications.
- Craft clear, engaging communications, including digital video, newsletters, emails, and internal announcements.
- Foster a sense of community and transparency.
- Incorporate change management principles into internal communications strategies.
Content Development and Management:
- Lead the creation of high-quality content (eBooks, white papers, webinars, live events) addressing financial challenges.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to produce thought leadership materials.
- Manage content production calendar and coordinate with Digital Marketing Specialists.
- Oversee content performance and effectiveness, using analytics to inform strategies.
- Develop and manage proactive and responsive public relations communications.
- Execute a seasonal calendar of events requiring PR effort.
Event and Webinar Management:
- Plan, execute, and host live events and webinars promoting financial literacy.
- Coordinate with external partners and speakers.
- Participate in the core planning team for All-Hands meetings and events, such as Indigenous People’s Day.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with departments across CWCU to ensure consistency in messaging.
- Engage with internal teams to understand communication needs.
- Integrate change management strategies into cross-functional efforts.
- Perform responsibilities in accordance with CW Values, compliance, regulatory, and Information Protection requirements.
- Attend training and comply with CWCU policies and procedures as well as State and Federal regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of developing engaging content.
- Experience with digital content creation and distribution, including SEO, social media, and email marketing.
- Ability to work effectively with data and synthesize analysis into reader-friendly content.
- Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Creative thinker, capable of innovation and adaptation.
- Proficient in content management systems and analytics tools.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the financial services or credit union industry.
