About Us: Founded in 1974, Consumers’ Checkbook is a nonprofit dedicated to helping consumers find quality service at reasonable prices. We publish unbiased ratings and undercover price research on everything from auto repair shops to doctors to plumbers to vets, and expert advice to help consumers make more informed decisions. Unlike other ratings organizations, we don’t accept any advertising, kickbacks, or referral fees from the companies we evaluate so there can be no question of bias. Our mission is to empower consumers with reliable information to help them save time, money, and hassle.
Position Overview: The Center for the Study of Services (CSS)/Consumers’ Checkbook team is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our team in Washington, D.C. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our social media presence, email communications, and digital advertising.
Salary Range: $59,000 to $69,000 based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: This is a hybrid position that is required to commute to our Washington, DC office 2 times per week. Our current required office days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our office is conveniently located by both the Farragut North and Farragut West metro stations. Our standard office hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in digital marketing or communications.
- Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.
- Understanding of audience segmentation, user behavior, and data-driven marketing strategies.
- Knowledge of HTML and content management systems like WordPress.
- Video editing skills (preferred).
- Knowledge of marketing automation platforms like HubSpot (preferred).
- Previous nonprofit experience (preferred).
