The Public Relations Specialist will support the PR team to help grow brand awareness, share-of-voice and positive brand perception, as well as assist in creating consistent story-telling content across all audiences.

 

This position will manage day-to-day PR activities and help plan and manage a diverse set of assets for public relations efforts, paid placements, marketing, analytical and communication activities covering Corporate, and all lines of business. The PR Specialist will work closely with the Marketing Partners and the Creative Team to maintain and manage the PR activation calendar, associated asset briefs, and end-to-end asset creation realizing compelling storylines and content for public relations efforts.

 

As a member of a small team of marketing and communications professionals, you will also collaborate on the conceptualization of marketing strategies and other projects as needed, including brand and brand activation efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages and participates in PR weekly strategy meetings – identifies and tracks action items, owners, and follow-through
  • Manages, gathers and tracks activations for PR calendar
  • Manages and maintains an internal socialization and communication plan for PR efforts to ensure awareness and alignment is maintained across the enterprise
  • Manages end-to-end asset development – from brief to in-market
  • Creates briefs and content, and ensures content is on brand, accurate, legally compliant, engaging, and consistently represented across all channels
  • Collaborates with PR team and Research and Insights team to leverage insights to identify and create storylines and thought-leadership content
  • Manages the creation and execution of all press releases, press efforts, and awards opportunities and submissions
  • Helps review all media inquiries, press and thought leadership opportunities to evaluate alignment with PR strategy and goals
  • Tracks and manages thought leadership and executive engagements (speaking, media, press) for our Executive Team
  • Up to 20% travel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in marketing, communications, journalism, or other appropriate degree from four-year college or university
  • At least 2 years of related experience in a public relations support role is required
  • High mindset with a driven, go-getter, can-do mentality
  • Excellent verbal, writing, and editing skills – superior writing and communication skills are essential
  • Experience in project management with ability to organize and re-prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to learn how to use data and apply insights to communications strategies
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment and collaborating with a diverse group of people, both internally and externally
  • Experience executing campaigns a bonus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint
  • Must be capable of becoming proficient in Public Relations listening tool

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
