The Philadelphia office of Cozen O’Connor is looking for a bright, creative, client service-oriented Marketing Specialist with excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail to work with the Practice Group Marketing Director to promote the firm’s brand, . The successful candidate will build a working knowledge of each practice group and industry initiative’s services and an understanding of their unique strategy, priorities, and clients.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Director of Practice Group Marketing and lawyers to prepare pitches and proposals tailored to specific matters and practice areas as well as respond to other requests for marketing materials. Track all pitches to evaluate wins/losses and trends by client type, practice, industry, etc.
  • Create and maintain marketing collateral, practice group descriptions, web copy, and matter lists.
  • Prepare and coordinate directory submissions and schedule follow-up interviews.
  • Prepare news items, press releases and social media posts.
  • Support participation in seminars, conference/association sponsorships, and other firm events, including assisting with logistics, managing advertising opportunities, leveraging sponsorship opportunities, attending events, and assisting in the coordination and execution of attorney participation in such profile-raising events.
  • Provide competitive intelligence and complete analytics projects in conjunction with Library Services.
  • Collaborate with other marketing, communications, and graphics team members and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Mentoring junior staff on best practices.
  • Manage other business development projects as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of five years of marketing or business development experience, preferably in a professional services industry.
  • Knowledge and skill in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Database experience preferred.
  • Must be a professional, independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to offer constructive opinions and creative solutions.
  • Ability to think broadly and demonstrate a high level of initiative.
  • Ability to work within a complex and multifaceted business environment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write business communications and effectively present information, and respond to inquiries from all levels of professional and support staff, clients, associations, and vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills and attention to detail in all work products.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and summarizing articles, alerts, white papers, and similar publications.
