We have an exciting opportunity for you to be an essential part of our dynamic Content Development team here at Assurant!

As the Senior Marketing Copywriter, you’ll be responsible for working with the creative and marketing teams to develop omni-channel marketing campaigns supporting major initiatives — for both Assurant’s business units and our enterprise as a whole.

You’re a hands-on, conceptual thinker with a strong B2B and digital content background who can influence others across teams with leadership and a clear vision for not only content development but visual execution, too.

You have a talent for turning abstract concepts into captivating marketing phrases and can spin creative briefs into actionable and innovative outputs. You know when a project calls for brainstorming concepts, as well as how to write content that delivers strategic results.

The project variety is endless, and you’ll work on everything from content marketing, social media posts, promotional campaigns, digital experiences, emails, videos, and more. This position will report to the Director, Marketing Content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce fresh, engaging content for clients, both creatively as well as effectively, in multiple media types including, but not limited to, digital, social, mobile, web, video, and print
  • Possess superior writing and editing skills
  • Concisely and coherently write/translate in both English and Spanish
  • Maintain excellent proofreading skills
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of spelling, grammar, and AP Style
  • Exhibit highly organized and self-motivated behaviors
  • Work well as a collaborator in a team environment
  • Process information supplied by clients and business stakeholders (e.g., account management, marketing, product management, and sales) to create effective content
  • Communicate ideas and rationale to clients and business stakeholders in a clear and efficient manner
  • Understand, shape, and implement appropriate brand voice and tone
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Show strong attention to detail
  • Participate in review sessions, brainstorms, concepting, and development of projects working with creative team, marketing, and business stakeholders
  • Work effectively across divisions with a diverse group of clients
  • Effectively take and implement direction from department directors, executive management, and marketing stakeholders
  • Learn about our industry, Assurant’s place in the market, our clients, end consumers, various products and services, target audience(s), and competitor activities
  • Show interest in current events, commerce, and advertising trends and techniques
  • Embrace a culture of ongoing training and development in content marketing best practices and Gen AI tools

Required Skills/experience

  • 4-year college degree majoring in English, Advertising, Communications or Journalism. Previous experience working in a high volume environment, a plus
  • Minimum six years B2B copywriting and content marketing experience for an agency or an in-house corporate team
  • Knowledge of various forms of content development including print, web, social, email, and email with a strong focus on digital content
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Creative writing samples that demonstrate originality, innovation, problem-solving, personal expression and results-oriented content. Samples of long-form content such as whitepapers and ebooks a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
  • Marketing experience working in a B2B company or regulated industry as well as experience working in a corporate environment, a plus

Pay Range

$63,400.00 – $105,800.00


Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
