Are you passionate about working with a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and data-driven approach, the Marketing Manager will thrive on managing a variety of key marketing initiatives concurrently in support of a dynamic industry?

The Marketing Manager will work with senior leaders to develop marketing strategies. They will be responsible for the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, building and maintaining media partnerships, and other marketing initiatives in support of the Intersolar & Energy Storage North America (IESNA) brand, which includes the annual IESNA Flagship, IESNA Texas, and IESNA Midwest events and digital content.

This role requires a blend of creative thinking, analytical skills, and hands-on marketing expertise to attract, engage, convert, and support IESNA’s attendees, exhibitor, and industry audience.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in alignment with the Marketing Director to develop key product marketing strategies, developing multi-channel marketing plans in support of IESNA’s event registration, exhibit sales, and digital content goals. Manage time effectively to develop key strategies while executing on multiple concurrent marketing initiatives and developing tactical skills, knowledge, and best practices.
  • Continually evaluate market trends and competitor events to inform and adjust strategies. Identify new platforms and/or opportunities to increase brand awareness, engagement, and conversion.
  • Create compelling copy and creative assets for websites, email campaigns, social media, advertising, paid search, onsite signage, print materials, etc. Maintain a consistent product brand identity throughout all events, materials, channels, and third-party events.
  • Manage campaign budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
  • Build and manage relationships with media partners, industry associations, and influencers to drive event visibility; Manage agency and vendor relationships as projects and strategies dictate.
  • Share updates and coordinate content with interdepartmental and internal resource teams (e.g., Web, Inbound Marketing, Operations, etc.) as needed to increase understanding and align messaging and audience targeting.
  • Will have responsibility of day-to-day team management, assigning long- and short-term tasks and projects, answering questions to encourage independent work, and reviewing and approving content. Take active role in helping team members expand skillset and industry understanding, sharing marketing best practices and advocating for professional development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Responsible for leading onsite marketing activities during events, including social coverage, branding, public relations assistance, attendee engagement initiatives, etc. as needed.
  • Analyze marketing performance metrics and adjust strategies for optimal ROI. Deliver weekly marketing KPIs to Director, keeping the team informed and involved in all on-going and upcoming marketing initiatives.

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of marketing experience, with progressive roles in campaign strategy and execution; proven track record of developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with budget management responsibility.
  • Experience in B2B marketing and/or solar + storage sectors preferred.
  • Strong copywriting, content creation, and design skills
  • Strong analytical and martech skills
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communicator, motivator, and administrator; Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Team leadership/management
  • Effectively manage the marketing process; communicate effectively with the team – listening to ideas, communicating strategy, adjusting when needed; executing marketing activities.

Technical Experience:

  • CMS platforms (WordPress preferred), with basic understanding of HTML
  • Marketing automation systems (Marketo or Hubspot preferred)
  • Mobile app (front-end development)
  • Google Analytics
  • Canva/Photoshop
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Travel: Required 2-3 times annually. If you are fully remote, additional travel to our office located in Portland, ME may be required.
