Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans—primarily for Gas South Theater, while also supporting select Arena events—to promote concerts, comedy, family shows, and special programming. The Marketing Manager works cross-functionally and with external partners to deliver impactful campaigns that position the District to attract diverse audiences, sponsors, and community partners.

Requirements

  • Manage all marketing efforts for Gas South Theater’s diverse event schedule. Serve as primary marketing liaison for event promoters, ensuring that event-specific marketing plans are fulfilled and executed.
  • Collaborate with event promoters, agents, and marketing reps to align campaign strategy, creative materials, and budgets.
  • Negotiate and place advertising buys for print, radio, and digital media for individual events.
  • Write and prepare copy for promotional spots and oversee creative asset development.
  • Assist in the execution of marketing and promotional efforts for Gas South Arena shows as assigned.
  • Enhance media relations and secure press coverage for upcoming events.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and community partners.
  • Write or route press releases and ensure timely distribution.
  • Work with internal teams and agencies to ensure creative materials meet brand and campaign standards.
  • Manage relationships with local partners, influencers, and community organizations to increase event exposure.
  • Contribute to social media content development, scheduling, and engagement tied to events.
  • Manage event-specific marketing budgets and track advertising invoices and expenditures.
  • Analyze market trends and campaign performance metrics to refine future marketing strategies and optimize budget allocation.
  • Assist with on-site show responsibilities, including partner activations, press, and content capture.
  • Work with internal departments like sales, ticketing, premium seating, food and beverage to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.

Skills And Abilities

Position requires the following skills and abilities:

  • Strong understanding of event marketing, ticket sales strategy, and promotional tactics.
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing, advertising, and analytics.
  • Experience with media buying and developing promotional campaigns.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and group sales strategies.
  • Experience supporting a theater series or season-based programming.
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly organized work style.
  • Ability to identify and respond to marketing and cultural trends.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment, with flexible hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Collaborative spirit with the ability to maintain productive relationships with promoters, vendors, and partners.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is required. Minimum of 4-6 years of marketing experience, preferably in live entertainment, performing arts, or venue marketing. Experience managing event marketing campaigns, ticketed event promotions, and working directly with promoters is preferred.
