General Summary: The Senior Media Account Executive for DG Media Network (DGMN) is responsible for managing media partnerships with Dollar General (DG) suppliers, including Consumer Packaged Goods, electronics, and beauty partners. The role involves proactively identifying insights-based media opportunities to help clients connect with DG shoppers along the path to purchase. This includes collaborating with internal teams such as media planners and insights/data science to design media plans aligned with client objectives. The Senior Account Executive ensures a seamless handoff to the media buying team for successful campaign delivery, all while highlighting new partnerships and evolving solutions to enhance client satisfaction.
Dollar General Media Network (DGMN) Overview: DGMN facilitates brand connections with DG shoppers through a variety of self-service and managed service digital tactics. These include Programmatic Display, Video, CTV, Digital Out of Home, Audio, Social, Onsite Media, and more. Leveraging first-party data, DGMN crafts media plans to resonate with customers and meet partners’ key performance indicators (KPIs). Real-time reporting and closed-loop measurement enable continuous assessment and optimization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Own a portfolio of CPG clients, driving the selling cycle and working with different groups that own advertising and marketing budgets.
- Foster trusted client relationships.
- Utilize shopper insights to identify opportunities and recommend media strategies using the DGMN portfolio of tactics.
- Oversee the development of proposals, terms, deliverables, and ensure campaigns meet all deadlines.
- Ensure proper setup and intake of pipeline in Salesforce, collecting the right inputs for media buyers and DGMN’s creative studio.
- Collaborate internally with support functions, including Product, Operations, Media Buyers, Media Planners, Insights, and Data Science.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Consultative selling experience with a proven ability to deliver sales results.
- Experience engaging with retailers and CPG clients across marketing verticals.
- Ability to interpret closed-loop media measurement tying marketing to sales using retail data.
- Proven client leadership skills with the ability to develop relationships and influence.
- Analytical acumen to make decisions and optimize media campaigns.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to internally partner on behalf of the client.
- Effective and proactive project management skills.
- Ability to articulate and translate client objectives to build a media plan.
- Strong understanding of digital and social platforms and their use in marketing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to share actionable recommendations concisely and persuasively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree B.A. / B.S or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of digital media and advertising experience.
- Travel is encouraged to advance client relationships.
