Summary: The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for implementing promotional and marketing campaigns for the organization under the guidance of the General Manager. This role also involves developing and managing relationships with media partners in radio, television, and outdoor platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating strategic plans for effective marketing of promotional nights, events, sponsorships, and community initiatives.
- Contribute to the creative execution of in-game promotions to meet client needs.
- Build relationships with local media stations to secure additional free promotion through on-air interviews, liners, and online content.
- Manage and regularly update the team website.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of social media activities and sponsorships.
- Lead the creation and deployment of digital content and articles distributed through team channels.
- Manage external marketing communications, including email marketing campaigns.
- Align marketing, advertising, and social media activities with the overall goals of the organization.
- Implement new ideas and incorporate industry best practices to enhance the atmosphere at Werner Park.
- Network and build relationships in Omaha and the surrounding region.
- Represent the organization at in-house ballpark events and off-site community events to promote the organization.
- Collaborate with the front office team to achieve objectives in advertising sales, marketing, tickets, and community relations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Game Day Responsibilities:
- Create and distribute all match previews and recaps in accordance with league rules.
- Prepare and distribute Match Notes for each match and upload to the USL website.
- Lead credentialing for media and staff.
- Manage the press box area for all media members, photographers, and videographers.
- Coordinate media coverage of games, both home and away.
- Supervise game day photographers as needed and ensure images are uploaded to USL.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Marketing, Marketing, Journalism, Communication, or related field preferred.
- At least one year of prior marketing or communications experience preferred.
- Past experience working with a sports organization preferred.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Quick problem-solving ability.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Internet, and database programs.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for organizational business.
- Ability and willingness to work varied and long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
