This role is hybrid. 3 Days a week on-site at the Austin, Chicago or Northbrook UL Solutions office.
Analyze industries, global markets and competitive intelligence to drive a strong go-to-market engine for our ULTRUS products and platform. Responsible for defining the strategy and tactics for how we will win based on a deep understanding of our solutions, current and potential customers and the competitive landscape. Provides strategic direction on go-to-market strategy including tools for sellers to differentiate our value proposition with target customers. Serves as the expert on ULTRUS strategy providing input on product roadmaps, sales strategies and both proactive and reactive tactics to maintain market leadership.
Responsibilities
- Leverages product, industry, and market intelligence to bring insight to market opportunities for Software products and the ULTRUS platform. Categorizes the primary solution(s) that should be promoted (product/service, data, etc.) and the corresponding competitive positioning, messaging, routes to market, target buyers, buying cycle and more.
- Monitors and adjusts strategy in response to industry and business intelligence trends (regulations, macroeconomic conditions, trends, business challenges, win/loss analysis) and acts as a subject matter expert. Expertly directs the organization’s efforts to complete competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and impending risks.
- Creates data-backed solution and platform messaging and positioning that identifies ideal customer profile, including buying personas and the customer pain points that our products solve (e.g. regulatory pressures, data complexity, cost, etc.) and aligned value propositions.
- Defines Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy including comprehensive plans for launching new ULTRUS modules. This includes setting goals, defining target audiences, and coordinating with product, sales, and marketing.
- Ensures the marketing team creates content for “value sellers” to have the tools they need to be effective. These include, but are not limited to, “Hunting Packages,” competitive displacement guides, and sales presentations to ensure the sales team can confidently deliver the value message. Work with revenue operations and create content for “Selling on customer value” and battle cards.
- Initiates market intelligence and trend research to identify new opportunities and ensure proper product targeting. Enables Product and Sales teams to leverage insights that inform both the product roadmap and sales strategy.
- Ensures creation of master messaging and value propositions that drive product awareness and business growth across Segments and businesses.
- Build and execute a full sales enablement plan around solutions with key collateral development.
- Conduct interviews of customers and prospects to better understand key customer pain points and industry challenges.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- 6 or more years in SaaS
- 4 or more years in product marketing for SaaS
- Analytical skill with Data driven analysis including win/loss, root cause, and competitive analysis skills
- Expert and disciplined communicator with exceptional PowerPoint skills
- Expert facilitation, project planning and management with cross-functional teams
- Expert business acumen and strategic thinking
- Budget creation and management
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Experience working with senior leaders
- Has rolled out sales enablement programs
- Process improvement
Minimum abilities preferred:
- Sustainability and/or Product Stewardship software marketing experience
- Understanding of AI and its capabilities
- Able to understand technical and scientific issues and to translate complex information for nonscientific audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience managing and/or using a wide array of internal communication tools
Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $130,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% (this will change if it becomes a B level role) of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
