Marketing Manager

Job Type: Full Time
Job Location: Remote San Francisco - CA

Empromptu.ai

Empromptu is an early-stage AI application builder designed for companies that need to ship real, enterprise-ready AI features without expanding their team or rewriting their platform.

We exist because 95% of AI features never make it to production. Teams are under pressure from customers, investors, and competitors to “add AI,” but face impossible tradeoffs: slow internal builds, expensive hiring, risky rewrites, or prototype tools that never scale.

Empromptu solves this by extending product roadmaps with AI features that manage themselves. Our platform builds complete production-ready AI applications, frontend, backend, models, and observability, integrates directly into existing SaaS infrastructure, handles large-scale context across hundreds of documents, and improves itself in production instead of becoming a maintenance burden.

We work with companies that are engineering-constrained, roadmap-heavy, and actively losing deals or retention to AI-enabled competitors.

Think of Empromptu as: shipping AI features in days instead of quarters without team expansion or platform rewrites.

Role Impact

This is not a traditional “marketing manager” role. You will own the entire go-to-market motion end to end.

Your work will directly:

  • Drive pipeline, revenue, and growth
  • Shape how the market understands Empromptu and self-managing AI features
  • Turn early traction into a repeatable GTM engine
  • Support customers and close the feedback loop between product, users, and messaging

You’ll be responsible for launching Empromptu into the market, creating demand, educating buyers, supporting customers, and building the marketing infrastructure that allows the company to scale.

Success Metrics

After 3 months

  • Own and operate Empromptu’s newsletter
  • Publish daily thought leadership and content
  • Plan, run, and manage workshops
  • Build and manage partnerships and creator relationships
  • Handle and manage customer support
  • Set up and run marketing automations and GTM tooling

After 6 months

  • Execute and own a full product launch
  • Drive consistent inbound demand
  • Establish Empromptu as a credible voice in AI for B2B SaaS

After 12 months

  • Help drive the company to its ARR goal
  • Own a repeatable GTM motion that ties content, launches, partnerships, and automation to revenue

Must-Have vs. Nice-to-Have Skills

Must-Have

  • Product marketing and go-to-market experience
  • Experience bringing a new product to market
  • Proven ability to generate and grow revenue
  • Ability to execute independently with limited direction
  • Comfort owning multiple functions in a zero-to-one environment

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with tools like Pipedrive, Intercom, Brevo, Customer.io, Zapier, or similar automation platforms
  • Experience working with early-stage B2B SaaS companies
  • Background in technical or developer-focused products

Team & Culture Context

  • This is the only marketing role at Empromptu today
  • You will work closely with the CEO, product, and engineering
  • The culture favors ownership, clarity of thinking, and bias toward action
  • You should be comfortable making decisions, testing ideas quickly, and iterating in real time

People who thrive here are builders — they like blank pages, unclear playbooks, and real responsibility.

Growth Potential

This role is designed to grow.

As Empromptu scales, this position can evolve into:

  • Head of Marketing
  • VP of Marketing

You’ll have direct influence over strategy, positioning, and future team structure, with opportunities to build and lead a marketing organization over time.

Compensation Transparency

  • Salary range: $150,000 – $200,000
  • Benefits included
  • Fully remote

Inclusive Candidate Signals

We value diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and paths into marketing and technology. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We care far more about how you think, execute, and learn than about checking every box.

Application Process

Our interview process is straightforward:

  • Initial interview
  • Whiteboard or case study interview
  • Coworker interview
  • Final interview with the CEO

Hiring timeline: ASAP

If you’re excited to build, launch, and scale a category-defining AI platform and want real ownership from day one, we’d love to hear from you.
