The Director, Organic Search (SEO) provides team leadership and shares their passion for the discipline of organic search and driving growth for our client’s businesses. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience leading clients & internal teams organic strategies, processes, analytics, cross-discipline collaboration, a clear history of exceeding client goals and campaign KPIs. This individual will partner with the department head and lead a team of SEO specialists in daily execution as well as contributing to new product offerings.

Responsibilities

Account Management

  • You will work with your team to develop a strong understanding of the client’s products, competition, industry, marketing goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance through strategic and tactical input to team members for successful execution of SEO campaigns.
  • You’ll be a strategic data lead. You will analyze performance data and garner key insights to develop the strategic vision for SEO and cross-channel opportunities, and provide analysis, QA and insights for performance reports.
  • You can translate complex ideas to easy-to-understand concepts for clients
  • Work closely with Planning teams for campaign alignment with client goals and work closely with the VP in developing campaign project plan and scope definition.

Team Management and Leadership

  • While the team is currently growing, over time you’ll direct and coach talented team members, both in discipline and outside of SEO, demonstrating how to think more strategically about Organic Search’s role within the media mix.
  • You will constructively and frequently evaluate team performance, providing support and recognition and effectively foster teamwork that drives motivation and retention.
  • We’ll rely on you to cultivate an environment which supports intelligent risk taking, innovation and creativity.

Organic Search Practice Innovation

  • You’ll be seen as the day to day strategy & technical lead, looking for ways to improve our performance internally as well with clients
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices and discuss potential impacts with clients directly in the form of POVs
  • You’ll be responsible for staying up to date on current industry practices, news and algorithm updates & share POVs with clients regularly
  • You will be required to have a high standard for quality, ensuring all deliverables are top tier, communicate the strategy clearly, and completed prior to client deadlines,
  • You’ll participate in new business pitches both big & small
  • You’ll be seen as the technical SEO & measurement SEO lead until the team is further built out
  • You will participate in team innovation meetings with creative input & task ownership.
  • You will also contribute to the development of new product offerings and practice innovations.
  • Help us create a well-oiled machine. Develop tools to improve efficiencies and advance the Organic Search practice.
  • Collaborate with individuals across Monks on corporate initiatives, automation projects, process changes, and roll-outs.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices and discuss potential impacts with teams on client work.

About You

The essentials:

  • You will bring a minimum of 6+ years of relevant Organic Search experience, and you’ll have that track record of building winning teams and client case studies
  • Prior experience successfully leading SEO teams and growth for large-scale clients, ideally at an agency.
  • You’ll have a strong analytical mindset and eagerness to build out full funnel measurement strategies
  • You’ll have an eye for website optimization strategies from a global, national and local perspective
  • You’re proficient with technical SEO and have an eagerness to work directly with developers to drive the technical SEO strategy overall
  • Ability to think strategically and drive solid results to grow the business.
  • Knowledgeable of Integrated Search Strategies and what it takes to win in these strategic areas
  • Prior experience managing a team demonstrating the ability to train and grow junior members of a team and serve as a reliable mentor.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork.
  • Exhibit a passion for SEO, the future of Search Marketing, and how it fits into the larger digital, media, and brand strategy.

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

Salary Range: $125,000—$150,000 USD
