Serving as the operational leader of the marketing department, the Director translates high-level strategy into clear, actionable plans and ensures the timely, effective delivery of initiatives that drive attendance, engagement, and revenue. This position is responsible for prioritizing marketing efforts and managing budget allocations to align with organizational goals, while ensuring seamless coordination across internal teams, affiliated business units, and partner organizations.
Duties And Responsiblities
- Translate strategic direction from the Senior Director of Sales & Marketing into actionable marketing plans, campaign strategies, and execution timelines
- Lead the execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, on-site, and off-site channels to drive attendance, engagement, and revenue
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for the Marketing team, establishing clear priorities, workflows, and accountability
- Develop, manage, and monitor marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with business objectives
- Oversee brand execution across all channels, ensuring consistency in messaging, creative output, and guest-facing communications
- Provide direction for internal creative development and ensure alignment with external agency campaign execution
- Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison for external agencies and vendors, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with internal priorities
- Oversee execution of digital marketing efforts, including website content, email marketing, social media, and third-party platforms
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness of all digital platforms supporting the guest experience
- Oversee the execution and fulfillment of corporate sponsorships, partnerships, and community engagement initiatives
- Manage the implementation and performance of the resort’s loyalty program, ensuring alignment with marketing campaigns and compliance standards
- Collaborate with Tribal Government to ensure alignment on public relations or crisis-based communications
- Maintain awareness of market trends, competitive landscape, and tourism dynamics to inform execution and decision-making
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Advertising, Communication or related field is required
- A minimum of eight (8) years marketing management experience is required
- A minimum of three (3) years previous experience in a tourism-based marketing environment is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general marketing and digital technologies is required
- Experience working within a project management system is required
- Proven experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, print, broadcast, and out-of-home media
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience managing budgets, tracking marketing spend, and aligning resources with business objectives
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required to support events and business needs
- Some overnight travel required
