Position Summary/Objective

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for ongoing management of member satisfaction as it relates to their digital marketing and overall relationship with AVB Marketing. This position serves as the leader and mentor of their client facing team members, and a valuable digital marketing expert for the clients they interact with. This role works to build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, and encourages them to engage in more services with AVB Marketing.

  • This role will serve as a key stakeholder in maintaining our B2B relationships and helping strategize, implement, measure, and adapt strategies across a suite of digital retail solutions built to support our core group of independent retailers. *Heavy emphasis on home furnishings and home appliance retailers.
  • Acts as an extension of your clients’ team as an outsourced Digital Marketing Director.
  • Responsible for holding team accountable to established KPIs, conducting reviews and providing feedback and praise.
  • Manages expectations and oversees the day-to-day service and satisfaction of clients.
  • Routinely reviews and analyzes campaign performance metrics, identifying areas for optimization and continued growth. Effectively presents all agency proposals to clients, identifying new business opportunities within their industry or market, and generating campaign ideas for both clients and the agency.
  • Keeps apprised of the client’s brands, products, sales, services, KPIs and marketing developments. Offers insight on other successful campaigns within the group.
  • Work with members on annual, quarterly, and seasonal marketing plans.
  • Lead your team of managers, specialists, and coordinators to ensure strong, successful, long-lasting client relationships, and keep up to date with any member concerns or wins.
  • Remove barriers for your team, sets priorities, offer solutions, and advise them on how to handle (and prevent) sticky customer issues – handle all escalations and bring in Leadership when necessary.

Remote Work/Travel: This position will work remotely from a home address and subject to AVB’s Remote Work policies and procedures which are then in effect. In addition, from time to time, this position will be required to engage in travel, including travel to attend AVB’s Annual All-Employee Meeting as well as other travel obligations which may be required of the position such as meetings with members, attendance at conventions and shows and other events where you will represent AVB. Required Skills And Abilities

  • Must speak French to support our bilingual clients.
  • General understanding of advertising, digital marketing, social media, creative services, production, retail, and sales.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong passion for branding, marketing strategy and moving the needle on behalf of small business.
  • In-depth knowledge of integrated marketing and digital disciplines (including audience targeting, design, digital production, and analytics.) Experience with Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Facebook Ads Manager preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and organizational skills are required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with excel preferred.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Extremely customer-focused; positive, professional attitude.
  • Strategic planning and Budget management experience
  • Maturity, Accountability and Flexibility –fills any team job needs when needed, available after hours.
  • Demonstrated deep understanding of data storytelling, wins reporting, analysis, and DM planning.
  • Possesses the ability to analyze data and tell a story using dashboards and native reporting from different ad platforms (Google, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.) and make actionable recommendations.
  • Typical projects require knowledge and creative problem-solving abilities in web design and development, front end site maintenance, creative development (landing pages, email blasts, ad assets, ad copy) and digital marketing (Search, YouTube, Display, Shopping, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) Your role is to ensure members are getting the most out of the SAAS platform we maintain, using all of its features to merchandise their website, and taking advantage of digital campaign opportunities your team will sell.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Industry experience of 5+ years working in or with furniture and bedding retailers.
  • Has led and managed multi-faceted omni-channel digital campaigns.
  • Proven understanding of website development and creative execution, advertising, marketing, and retail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a similar field of studies is preferred.
  • Management-level position experience; Agency experience is preferred; 5+ year’s related experience in an Account Manager or relevant role.
  • Previous retail experience a plus, bonus points for core competencies of home furnishings, home décor, and bedding (mattresses).
  • Marketing Certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel when required with proper accommodations, if necessary.
