The Opportunity

As our marketing footprint grows, we have an ever-expanding set of campaigns, assets, webpages, and other marketing collateral that needs timely support to be created. The Marketing Designer role will primarily focus on creating elevated design, immersive experiences and world-class content for FlockSafety.com.
In addition, this role will support the Marketing team with any other marketing support needs that may arise in support of the business. By adding a Marketing Designer to the team, we’ll be prepared to best support all requests that flow through to the Brand, Content, Design, and Videography team from across the organization. Our team’s aim is more, better, faster – all in support of our mission as a company.

The Skillset

  • 5+ years of visual design experience
  • Expert-level Webflow design experience
  • Expert-level experience in Figma
  • Expert-level experience in Adobe Creative Suite
  • A compelling portfolio of relevant design work across websites, branded content, digital marketing campaigns, product photography, and content marketing
  • A strong understanding of typography, composition, color, layout, design thinking, and how this correlates to brand and content strategy
  • Experience in animation or motion graphics is a plus but not required
  • A high-level of comfort working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving startup environment
  • A sense of urgency and are not afraid to take risks
  • A shared passion in our mission to eliminate crime

90 Days at Flock

We are a results-oriented culture and believe job descriptions are a thing of the past. We prescribe to 90 day plans and believe that good days, lead to good weeks, which lead to good months. This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired as a Marketing Designer at Flock Safety.


The First 30 Days

  • At the end of 30 days, you have established the workflow for designing content on FlockSafety.com.
    • Establish intake process for newly requested pages, updates and edits.
    • Audit and review the site and fix any visual discrepancies or places for improvement.
    • Establish new templates in Webflow to create visually dynamic content.

The First 60 Days

  • At the end of 60 Days, our website design strategy should be established and now we should be operating to said strategy. You should have a clear plan on supporting marketing campaigns and content marketing, alongside the website duties.

90 Days & Beyond

  • At the end of 90 Days, you are rolling. You have ensured that Flock has the process, templates, and workflow in place to create on-brand content from design to publication on FlockSafety.com. You are leading design projects as assigned with oversight from the Director, Brand & Content.
    • Guide the project management of design with precision and poise
    • Act as the in-house expert for all things Webflow and provide feedback and guidance on webflow design questions
    • Proactively advise on new page ideas and designs for upcoming projects
    • Maintain a clean and easy-to-navigate product photography library
    • Advise on how to keep FlockSafety.com brand fresh, relevant, consistent and top-of-mind for all customers, stakeholders and potential employees
    • Support Product Launch efforts with any website-related and campaigns needs

What a Typical Week May Look Like

  • 50% Webflow Content Production: Supporting the company by creating experiences and pages on FlockSafety.com to support business and marketing objectives
  • 30% Flagship Content Support: Supporting the company by creating innovative and thoughtfully-designed flagship content pieces for use across digital platforms
  • 20% Marketing Campaign Support: Supporting Marketing and cross-functional partners with visual design expertise and innovation through brainstorm, ideation and execution of final design assets

The Interview Process

We want our interview process to be a true reflection of our culture: transparent and collaborative. Throughout the interview process, your recruiter will guide you through the next steps and ensure you feel prepared every step of the way.

  • Our First Chat: During this first conversation, you’ll meet with a recruiter to chat through your background, what you could bring to Flock, what you are looking for in your next role, and who we are.
  • The Hiring Manager Interview: You will meet with your potential future boss to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at Flock. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field.
  • The Technical Assessment: Our technical assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job. Engineers may find themselves in coding interviews or architecture discussions, sales roles may present mock discovery calls, and leadership roles may craft 90 day plans. Your recruiter will inform you of which assessment you will be assigned and ensure you are fully prepared for your big day.
  • The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners.
  • The Executive Review: A chance to meet an executive in your function and view Flock from a different lens. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more.
