Horrocks is seeking a motivated and strategic Marketing Communications Manager to guide strategies and manage production of marketing deliverables that establish/reinforce/create top-of-mind awareness of Horrocks as a trusted leader in infrastructure planning and design. This position will support all disciplines across our company and will be a part of the Marketing/Visualization Department. Working in a team environment, in collaboration with business developers, technical staff leadership, proposal writers/coordinators, graphic artists, and others, the ideal candidate will supervise communications production staff to support Horrocks’ long-range marketing and business development efforts.

Duties generally include interfacing with business development and project managers to understand audience and promotions need (companywide and per individual project/client), develop strategies, recommend appropriate pre-positioning marketing materials, and direct staff to develop high-quality, impactful materials, which may range from brochures, presentations, and articles to websites, videos, and social media. Strong writing/editing skills, an understanding of graphic principles, a team mentality and proven success working with groups and individuals with diverse backgrounds and abilities, and skill in translating complex information into easy-to-understand language and visuals are crucial. Proficiency in Adobe products, including InDesign, is a plus.

What are the core responsibilities for the role?

    • Develop and direct implementation of companywide and specific marketing strategies.
    • Liaise with business development, technical staff leadership, marketing. management/coordinators to understand audience, need, intent, other data that would contribute to sound strategies.
    • Manage/guide communications staff, ensuring high-quality, appropriately targeted and delivered Independently evaluate and clarify marketing requests.
    • Write/edit/proofread marketing content.
    • Work with marketing staff, project managers, and/or project teams to develop marketing materials, coordinate with the graphic designers, oversee the final production and delivery.
    • Coordinate and direct the efforts of both professional and support personnel, including scheduling resources needed during production, coordinating production schedules, and delivery/distribution of marketing content.
    • Gather and organize detailed information to populate and maintain company data systems, including photography, resumes, project descriptions, pricing information, client quotations, and standard proposal content.
    • Prepare submissions for project awards.
    • Coordinate project photography.
    • Create print and electronic/interactive marketing materials such as brochures, PowerPoint presentations, advertisements, tradeshow materials, award submittals, etc.
    • Event management which includes the planning and implementation of client events and conferences.
    • Participate in business and community activities that promote Horrocks services.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or equivalent or a minimum of five years of marketing experience.
    • Experience developing and executing marketing strategies, campaigns, and events in the architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) field.
    • Intermediate to expert skills in Adobe InDesign and Creative Suite.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent project management skills.
    • Work well in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility, ownership, time management, and focus.Proven ability to:
    • Take accountability for projects and meet deadlines.
    • Give and receive feedback in a humble, constructive way.
