The Senior Marketing Specialist manages the development, implementation and ongoing operation of marketing, branding and advertising initiatives including marketing strategies, market research and program analytics related to membership growth, brand awareness and membership engagement.

 

The Senior Marketing Specialist will work closely with our Lending, Sales and Member Experience areas, including individual branch management, in support of their efforts in selling loan, deposit and service products throughout Michigan to current and prospective members. The Senior Marketing Specialist will coordinate social media and digital efforts for all marketing campaigns with the Senior Digital Marketing Specialist and Social Media and Community Relations Manager. Ensures compliance with all credit union policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Responsibilities 

  • Strategy Development – Provides support to Marketing Manager in the development of marketing strategies.
  • Campaign Development and Implementation – Manages the development and implementation of advertising and marketing campaigns/tactics to support promotions, special offers, new products, and ongoing programs to meet sales objectives or promote brand awareness to current and prospective members as well as tracking and reporting on campaign analytics. Responsible for coordinating the integration of social media and digital elements into campaigns as needed.
  • Campaign Analytics – Ensures all appropriate internal personnel are adequately informed of campaigns and are provided necessary instructions and materials in a timely manner. Develops, implements, maintains and monitors systems to measure the results and return on investment of the credit union’s campaigns to determine their success in meeting the financial goals and objectives for campaigns. Reports campaign progress and effectiveness to Marketing Manager.
  • Performance – Assures positive performance and execution of all departmental core functions in day-to-day operations; responsible for positive performance and execution of all departmental strategies, assigned projects, and delegated tasks and responsibilities.
  • Budget – Processes billing for marketing department, as assigned. Works to identify project costs and evaluates them to fit within budget parameters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; an emphasis on marketing or advertising is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of marketing experience. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth marketing background in developing marketing strategies, plans and campaign development.
  • Combination of education and related experience may result in a determination that the equivalent minimum requirements have been met.

  • Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal compliance regulations related to the credit unions products and services and the advertising of such services.
  • Intermediate level of experience, knowledge and training in business intelligence activities, more specifically the utilization of a data warehouse for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Intermediate skills in personal computer operation, word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
  • Basic math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
