Mattel’s Platform Strategy team is seeking an Associate, Digital Marketing (International Content) to adapt global YouTube strategies across Mattel’s portfolio of brands and products and communicate to international markets for optimal business impact.
This position will work with the Content Execution team to apply global frameworks and processes to maximize global viewership and watch time on video platforms. They will be an expert on international execution for global video platforms (YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Video) and be able to strategically apply them to Mattel brands, creating impact and effectiveness across all levels of the digital marketing funnel. This role will provide thought leadership and process enforcement across all markets and brands. They will work cross-functionally with brand, markets, media, and production partners to ensure brand consistency and achievement of business goals.
What Your Impact Will Be
- 50% – Research, gather and present international video data and insights, international industry trends, platform trends, current state and international competitive positioning in the Kids and Family entertainment space to inform global programming strategies during key planning cycles
- Consistently audit international approaches to organic and media optimization to ensure managed brands remain industry leaders.
- Establish KPIs and content goals for international markets that align with brand tentpoles and drive brand health and financial targets.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for international markets.
- 30% – Support Platform Strategy development team in global research assignments relating to kids entertainment, YouTube creators, and competitive brands. Deliverables will be used to further Mattel’s content offering and organizational knowledge of the landscape.
- 20% – Communicate and drive international YouTube audience and programming strategies for LATAM, EMEA and APAC based on global digital frameworks for Mattel brands and cross-functional partners. Global content expansion will ensure marketing activations are resonating strongly in media mixed models, maintaining healthy growth, and increasing contribution to POS.
- Obtain local market input on annual strategy development and participation in brand / and platform calendar moments.
- Translate global programming strategy from Content leads into local market calendars and collaborate with Markets, Media, and Production partners to ensure deliveries and KPIs are met.
What We’re Looking For
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in digital marketing, brand marketing, audience development and/or digital analytics.
- Experience in the consumer internet and media industries, specifically YouTube content distribution landscape.
- Google Analytics, YouTube Analytics, and Tubular Analytics experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of international industry trends, platform trends and competitive positioning in the Kids and Family YouTube space.
- Existing relationships with YouTube creators and international media companies
The annual base salary range for this position is between $72,000 and $89,000.
- This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
