The Manager, Brand PR, executes key integrated communications initiatives, projects and activities that grow, promote, and elevate the category and the brands within the specialty category. This position will work with the category director to execute media relations initiatives, PR campaigns and other special projects.

 

Essential Functions
  • Public Relations
    • Lead strategy for consumer-focused PR campaigns, inclusive of brand activations, partnerships, media relations, and pitch initiatives, with support from the national PR agency of record.
    • Collaborate with Brand Marketing and Culinary leads to understand and advise on promotions, LTOs and key business initiatives to generate media coverage.
    • Coordinate with brand teams and shared services departments on execution for integrated campaigns (marketing, culinary, social, loyalty, web, email, operations).
    • Assist on all brand partnerships and collaborations (including influencers) to increase brand visibility with key audiences.
    • Work alongside brand social media leads to mine for ‘newsjacking’ stories based on timely events, trends, pop culture, etc.
    • Manage PR activity around global channels CPG and licensing products and partnerships (consulting with Category PR director)
    • Partners with corporate communications and franchise sales PR lead to offer up story opportunities and review all materials for brand accuracy.
    • Establishes and maintains a consistent system of documenting key metrics and reporting, in partnership with AOR
  • Vendor, Internal, and External Relationships
    • Establishes and manages national PR agency of record relationship and any PR vendor partnerships (e.g., activation vendors, production teams, etc.) to ensure brand communication needs are met while maximizing cost efficiency, quality, and timeliness.
    • Provides strategic communications counsel and executive coaching to senior leadership.
    • Develops and maintains positive business relationships with associates, vendors, agencies, media, stakeholders, franchise partners, and industry professionals which fosters an environment for mutual respect, understanding, and support.
    • Interacts with internal stakeholders to provide consultation on communications, PR, and related topics.
    • Interfaces with industry, media, and professional organizations to increase awareness of the brand/organization, to expand networking opportunities, and to remain knowledgeable of communications and PR strategies.
    • Research industry communications and public relations trends and best practices to assess the organization’s performance.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Public relations, communications, journalism, business, marketing, advertising, or other related field of study, Pref
 
Work Experience
  • 5-8 years, Experience in media/public relations and communications, Pref
  • Retail, restaurant, food, or beverage experience, Pref
 
Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in clear concise language; to demonstrate active listening while engaging others; and to establish, implement, and clearly communicate strategies that align with business needs and objectives to gain buy-in from stakeholder

  • Ability to travel overnight approximately 20% annually.
