Wiley is looking for a results-driven Channel Marketing Manager to grow awareness, discoverability, and conversion of Learning products (predominantly our Trade and Professional books) within our retail, wholesale and library channels. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with developing and implementing customer and data-driven merchandising plans for specific products, channels, and promotional opportunities.
The Channel Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing on strategic marketing initiatives for the retail, wholesale and library supply account channels and will grow Wiley’s presence and conversions through effective sell-in materials, instore, online and print merchandising, campaign optimization, customer and market knowledge, and collaboration with their global sales colleagues.
How you will make an impact:
- Drive account-specific merchandising programs that convey our products’ value proposition and engage booksellers and customers alike.
- Monitor, measure, and report on the effectiveness of merchandising initiatives to enable continuous learning and campaign/promotion optimization.
- Conceptualize, create, and distribute collateral and sales tools for channel sales colleagues and accounts.
- Work across Wiley business units and regions to ensure alignment in merchandising strategy and enable learnings from promotional activities.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Publishing, and Editorial colleagues to effectively position products in response to market and customer needs.
- Demonstrate expertise in Learning products (books, ebooks) and publishing through presentations to accounts, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Actively participate and represent Wiley in library and bookseller communities.
- Protect the value of Wiley IP and its brand and provide a trustworthy customer experience through data integrity, piracy, and fraud monitoring.
- Evangelize and champion channel mission, strategy, and needs to internal stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years in an elevated marketing or merchandising role within a medium to large organization.
- Extensive and proven experience working directly with book retailers and/or wholesalers and other book distribution channels.
- Ability to lead cross-functional merchandising initiatives from concept through implementation with quantifiable results.
- Understanding of book category management and merchandising functions.
- Strong writing, communication, design, and technology presentation skills.
- Experience tracking and reporting campaign results, including marketing dashboard creation and familiarity with merchandising KPIs.
- Demonstrated experience in optimizing digital and ecommerce paths that resulted in increased engagement and sales.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects on deadline.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed team player with a positive attitude and who thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Creative and innovative thinker with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output and quickly evolving merchandising tactics based on performance.
- Excitement and passion for finding new ways to reach and engage customers.
- Proven ability to build relationships across various internal and external global stakeholders.
