Digital Marketing Specialist

Job Type: Full Time
Job Location: San Francisco - CA

Plasmidsaurus is on a mission to accelerate new cures and promote a healthier planet by unlocking a new level of productivity for scientists. Our sequencing services are used daily by thousands of innovators, including Nobel laureates, Fortune 100 pharma, and over 70,000 scientists.

We began by revolutionizing plasmid sequencing, making it exponentially cheaper and faster, with innovative sequencing technologies and a global network of laboratories that turn samples into answers in hours, not weeks.

Now we are expanding that same disruptive model across all of genomics. With the launch of our new RNA-seq service, we are taking a bold step toward our vision to sequence everything, providing scientists everywhere with faster, simpler, and more affordable access to the data that powers discovery.

Every team member at Plasmidsaurus plays a crucial role in driving the future of biotech research. Together, we are building the world’s most efficient sequencing engine that operates overnight, scales globally, and helps scientists make breakthroughs faster than ever before.

Our goal is to build a global community of scientists who rely on Plasmidsaurus to accelerate their research. Marketing plays a critical role in this mission. By scaling awareness, engagement, and customer advocacy, we aim to grow from tens of thousands of active users today to hundreds of thousands of scientists accessing Plasmidsaurus services worldwide.

About the Role

We are not looking for a traditional corporate marketer. The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for bringing the well-loved Plasmidsaurus brand to life across social media. This is a unique opportunity for a marketer who truly understands the culture of the scientific research community, and who knows how a clever reference to Gibson Assembly or E. coli growth curves can resonate more with scientists than any polished ad campaign.

This position sits at the intersection of technical scientific communication and a fun, playful brand, creating content that scientists actually want to engage with. You must be able to translate scientific insights and complex sequencing data into social content that resonates with and captures the attention of scientists who spend their lives at the lab bench and who expect authenticity as well as technical accuracy.

Reporting to the Marketing Program Manager, you will manage the day-to-day execution of Plasmidsaurus’s digital channels, focusing on social media but also helping execute email campaigns. Working closely with teams across Marketing, Sales, Product Marketing, Product Management, and Design, you will play a central role in building awareness, engagement, and long-term customer loyalty.
