Overview

Targeted Victory is looking for a creative leader to develop and optimize Targeted Victory’s use of email as we improve and transform the political fundraising experience for both donors and clients. The leader must be comfortable working in a deadline-driven, campaign-style work environment and be able to coordinate with multiple teams across the organization to capture requirements and drive outcomes. Attention to detail, time management, and a strong work ethic are must-haves. It’s our preference for the applicants to be able to work in person at our Arlington, VA office, but we will be open to being remote for the right candidate with the expectation that there will be frequent trips to the office to build relationships.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow Targeted Victory’s email marketing programs, helping to advance Targeted Victory’s position as the market leader in online fundraising
  • Ability to gather requirements, do a full discovery, and write technical requirements to achieve goal
  • Develop strategies and tactics to increase the performance of Targeted Victory email products
  • Partner with ESP and data vendors to expand the effectiveness of Targeted Victory email efforts
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and advance email marketing effectiveness
  • Analyze, optimize, and report on key fundraising and email marketing metrics
  • Create the structure and processes necessary to manage email operations and projected growth
  • Can work independent and in a team setting
  • Ability to understand complex process and operation, the flow of data, targeting and events.
  • Ensure teams have the tools and training needed to execute on new email tactics
  • Be a strong collaborator and partner with product teams, client teams, and other departments
  • Function as a strategy partner and doer, provide leadership and insights, support strategic objectives, and be a hands-on member of the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience leading email marketing teams, ideally within the political industry
  • Proven ability to optimize across a variety of digital advertising channels and manage the implementation of tactics
  • Significant experience managing others and driving / aligning teams to strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to scale and improve programs, optimize efforts, and drive outcomes
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for building productive relationships with key stakeholders and leadership
  • Demonstrated skills in the following areas:
    • HTML
    • DNS management
    • Email deliverability and reputation
    • Bounces
    • A/B testing
    • DB queries (SQL) & Snowflake
    • AMP scripts
    • IP and domain management and warmp
    • Tableau
    • Email service provider management and contract negotiations
    • Major ISPs postmaster relations
    • Ability to troubleshoot and identify the cause
  • Advanced analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to deliver on return on advertising spend (ROAS) metrics
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics into clear and easily understandable messages
