The Director of Marketing will play a key leadership role within our NBA G League Greensboro Swarm, responsible for driving fan engagement and brand awareness and presence. Reporting directly to the Team President, this individual will oversee the Marketing, Game Experience and Social Media initiatives.
As part of a small, agile organization, the Director must be a strategic thinker and hands-on executor, someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, but can also independently lead projects from concept to completion. Flexibility, creativity and a team-first mentality are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Brand Management
- Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy for the team, aligned with organizational goals.
- Ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels and platforms.
- Collaborate with sales and partnerships teams to create marketing assets that drive ticket sales, sponsorship activations, and revenue growth.
Game Experience
- Lead the planning and execution of all in-game entertainment, promotions, and theme nights to deliver an unforgettable fan experience.
- Oversee scripting, timing, and coordination of game day elements including music, PA, video board content, mascot, and entertainment teams.
- Partner with arena staff to ensure seamless game presentation.
Digital & Social Media
- Oversee all social media accounts and digital marketing campaigns, ensuring content is engaging, timely, and on-brand.
- Manage the content calendar in coordination with team departments.
- Track performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize audience growth and engagement.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise marketing and game presentation staff and interns.
- Foster a collaborative and flexible work environment, jumping in to support other departments as needed.
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team, helping shape organizational culture and strategy.
- Demonstrate professionalism and uphold HSE brand standards in all interactions and deliverables.
Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies associated with the essential functions of this job.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management or a related field.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in sports marketing or entertainment, preferably with game presentation and community outreach responsibilities.
- Proven ability to manage projects, timelines and personnel in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Proficient in social media platforms and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite is a plus).
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Results-oriented, with a focus on surpassing organization goals.
