Overview
The Director of Marketing & Digital Media is responsible for leading the YMCA of Pueblo’s marketing, communications, and digital strategy with a strong emphasis on visual storytelling, particularly video, to elevate awareness of the Y’s impact across the community. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our community not only knows what we do, but understands why it matters. Through compelling, mission-driven storytelling, this leader will capture and share the real stories of members, families, and programs that demonstrate the Y’s role as a cornerstone of community well-being. Working under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, this position will develop and execute strategies that drive engagement, participation, and philanthropic support, while strengthening the YMCA brand across all Platforms.
KEY PRIORITY: STORYTELLING THROUGH VIDEO DIGITAL CONTENT
1. Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive video storytelling strategy that highlights the YMCA’s impact, programs, and community outcomes.
2.Capture, produce, and distribute high-quality video content that tells authentic stories of members, staff, and community transformation.
3.Ensure consistent storytelling across all channels (social media, website, email, presentations) to reinforce the Y’s mission and relevance.
4.Build a content pipeline that ensures the Y is proactively telling its story, not relying on others to define it.
5.Partner with program and membership teams to identify and elevate meaningful stories that connect emotionally and inspire action.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an annual marketing and communications plan aligned with the YMCA’s strategic priorities, with storytelling at its core.
- Serve as the primary Association spokesperson for media inquiries, community relations, and crisis communications.
- Ensure all marketing communications are coordinated, mission-driven, and effective in reaching target audiences.
- Lead brand strategy and consistency across all programs, services, and communication channels.
- Proactively engage media through storytelling, including feature stories, Op/Ed pieces, PSAs, and human-interest content.
- Serve as the marketing/PR liaison to internal teams, branches, and community partners.
- Create and execute integrated campaigns for membership, programs, and fundraising initiatives.
- Utilize demographic and engagement data to inform marketing strategies and program promotion.
- Support pricing strategy communication and positioning.
- Develop presentations and materials for board, community, and fundraising efforts.
- Manage marketing budgets and ensure strong return on investment.
- Oversee advertising and promotion across print, digital, and direct channels.
- Track, analyze, and optimize marketing performance and outcomes.
- Conduct market research and adjust strategies to remain competitive and relevant.
- Build and maintain relationships with community influencers and strategic partners.
- Lead social media strategy with a focus on engagement, storytelling, and community connection.
- Actively listen and respond to the community across digital platforms.
- Oversee website strategy and digital presence, ensuring content is current, engaging, and user-friendly.
- Manage website and app content, including scheduling functionality and user experience.
- Perform MOD responsibilities.
- Support the Annual Community Support Campaign through storytelling and engagement strategies.
- Support Corporate Cup and other key events through impactful promotion and coverage
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media, or related
field preferred (or equivalent experience).
2. Demonstrated experience in video production, editing, and digital storytelling required.
3. Strong understanding of social media, content strategy, and digital marketing trends.
4. Experience with web analytics, social listening tools, and content management systems.
5. Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
6. Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
7. Creative, innovative, and collaborative mindset.
8. Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Ads, and digital advertising platforms.
9. Ability to connect with and represent diverse community audiences.
10. Experience leading organizational change and communication strategies.
11. CPR, AED, Oxygen, and First Aid Certification (within one month of hire).
