Position Summary:
The Director, Marketing Operations contributes to our mission through the development, implementation, and management of the Company’s marketing operations strategy. Key to this individual’s success will be the ability to manage a collaborative team, implement impactful, scalable, and creative marketing operation strategies, drive continual improvement through measurement and assessment, optimize marketing’s technology stack, and ensure marketing processes and execution are done exceptionally with agility, which will all directly impact the goals and objectives of Discovery Life Sciences.

A Day in the Life of the Director, Marketing Operations at Discovery Life Sciences:
- Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Strategic Marketing team to generate new ideas to meet business goals.
- Team Leadership: Directly guide and mentor the marketing team to ensure coordinated execution of projects.
- Website Performance: Partner with CMO to ensure website is performing at a high level.
Must-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in related marketing, science, or an equivalent field required.
- 7+ years of experience in developing and implementing digital marketing strategies.
- 3+ years as a Digital Marketing Manager.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with search engine marketing and optimization, web performance and analytics, and CRM software (preferably Salesforce, Pardot, or HubSpot).
- In depth knowledge of different digital marketing channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Marketing Operations and Digital Marketing Leadership: Define the Marketing Operations vision and strategy that enables intelligent decision through precise analysis. Design, lead, and maintain highly functional, dynamic, and high throughput marketing operations.
- Build and Optimize Impactful Marketing Tech Stack: Build and maintain marketing’s technology stack to support a growing, global marketing team working with IT counterparts and the CMO of marketing.
- Partner and align with strategic marketing directors, graphic designers, and web developers to properly execute marketing tactics.
- Website Enhancement and Performance: Lead efforts to continually improve performance and functionality of the Discovery website ecosystem ranging from customer experience (CX), conversion optimization, search engine optimization, and commerce.
- Create Optimal Systems of Process and Efficiency: Streamline marketing operation systems to improve marketing efficiencies and throughput through agile methodologies and project management.
- Collaborative Strategic Alignment: Work collaboratively with strategic marketing directors, the chief marketing officer, cross-functional teams, and 3rd party contractors with continual curiosity and proactive efforts to effectively execute marketing strategies and tactics.
- Ensure Best Practices and Excellence: Stay up to date on the latest marketing operations technology and best practices and implement those with the approval of the CMO of marketing.
- Digital Performance: Manage, optimize, and oversee the performance of all digital marketing channels. Establish and quantitatively measure marketing ROI and KPIs.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure Discovery is conducting GDPR and other relevant privacy regulation compliance through its digital marketing channels with all laws and regulations applicable to the Company and its operation.

- This is an onsite position located at one of Discovery’s US office locations – Huntsville, AL; Boston, MA; Alameda, CA or Newtown, PA.
- Relocation support is available for the selected qualified candidate relocating to one of our U.S. office locations.
