About The Role

As a key member of the Executive Committee, the Director of Sales and Marketing is a highly visible leadership role with direct exposure to senior and corporate leadership. This position drives revenue growth and oversees the resort’s sales, marketing, and business development strategies to enhance market presence and maximize profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
  • Oversee the Sales and Marketing Budget/P&L, revenue forecasting, and business plan development.
  • Lead and mentor the sales team, including managers, trainees, interns, and administrative staff, ensuring strong performance and professional growth.
  • Drive group and transient sales through effective account management, retention, reactivation, and acquisition strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director and Regional Vice President of Sales to align sales efforts with business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with ownership, corporate leadership, and key stakeholders to support business growth.
  • Oversee advertising, branding, and marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with Hyatt’s brand standards and the resort’s positioning.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor performance to identify growth opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven leadership experience in sales and marketing, preferably in the luxury resort or hospitality industry.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership and ownership.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation, pricing strategies, and sales pipeline management.
  • Proficiency in sales technology platforms and CRM systems.
  • Ability to inspire, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.

Qualifications

  • 6 years or more of progressive hotel Sales experience (typically with Hyatt)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
  • With opening hotels, previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred
  • Demonstrated history of success
  • Results driven, energetic, and focused
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
