Responsibilities

Strategy Development

  • Lead Generation: Develop targeted marketing campaigns to attract qualified B2B prospects in the US ecommerce space.
  • Marketing Vision: Define the company’s overall marketing strategy, pinpoint target audiences, and craft a unique value proposition that resonates in the market.
  • Goal Setting: Establish measurable marketing goals and KPIs to track success and guide strategic adjustments.

Digital & Content Marketing Execution

  • Technical Acumen: Leverage quantitative marketing expertise and coding skills to enhance marketing automation and drive campaign optimization (this is a key differentiator for preferred candidates).
  • Campaign Optimization: Manage and optimize digital advertising across multiple channels, including paid media, email, audio, video, programmatic, and more, with a focus on automation and performance enhancement.
  • Content Leadership: Oversee the production of high-quality content such as blog posts, webinars, case studies, podcasts, video ads, and whitepapers, all tailored to engage US online brands and merchants.

Marketing Team Leadership

  • Team Building: Recruit, build, and mentor a high-performing marketing team including content creators, designers, digital marketers, and analysts.
  • Performance Management: Set clear expectations, provide coaching, and motivate the team to achieve and exceed marketing objectives.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Monitor key marketing metrics and deliver insightful, data-driven reports to senior leadership to assess ROI and campaign effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in senior marketing roles within the US B2B SaaS industry.
  • Proven success in driving effective marketing strategies and campaigns in a technology/SaaS environment.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS business models, target markets, and customer personas.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, demand generation, and marketing automation platforms.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of using KPIs and data-driven insights to optimize performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated focus on and success in automating and optimizing marketing execution.
  • Background in quantitative marketing and coding skills (relevant degree and/or practical experience) is a massive differentiator. For exceptional candidates with these skills, we are open to transitioning the role into a senior-level individual contributor focused on marketing automation, with less emphasis on team management.
  • Deep knowledge of the US ecommerce ecosystem, including marketplaces, platforms, and merchant segmentation, along with an extensive network within that space.

The minimum annual base salary for this position if $150,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base.com is a total compensation company. Other forms of compensation, incl. annual bonus and KPI-based cash payouts may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
