Are you passionate about fresh fruits and veggies? Do you thrive in a creative, collaborative environment?We’re looking for a talented Marketing Assistant to join our growing team and help us share the power of fresh produce with school food service, food banks, food service distributors, and more. Ideal candidates will bring fresh, creative ideas to promote nutrition, make fresh produce appealing, understand the needs of school nutrition directors and teachers, and engage with diverse communities.

 

Design and writing samples will be requested at a later stage in the application process.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Digital Marketing Support and Content Creation (40%)

  • Shape the marketing voice and brand strategy for DNO Produce.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of marketing campaigns and the management of the content calendar.
  • Capture and edit photo and video content; maintain our media library.
  • Create engaging social media content (written, visual, and video).
  • Support the creation of materials for child nutrition customers; oversee translation to Spanish (language experience preferred but not required).
  • Create and execute monthly email marketing campaigns; manage communications lists.
  • Perform website updates and edits to maintain brand continuity.

Sales Support/Event Planning (40%)

  • Organize and manage logistics for sales and public-facing events like trade shows and webinars.
  • Prepare materials for sales presentations and trade shows, and coordinate event giveaways and customer gifts. Travel and attend trade shows as needed (regional travel, up to 5%).
  • Engage with customers by responding to inquiries and feedback from email marketing campaigns, our website, and the general sales email.

Internal Communications (20%)

  • Oversee internal communications and logistics company events, including company town hall, employee recognition efforts, and company-wide family events.
  • Support internal branding, including designing displays, signage, and promotional materials.4

  • Promoting fresh produce consumption and nutrition, especially among children, and thinking outside the box to help kids develop a positive relationship with fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Making fresh produce as easy to consume and accessible as possible for all people.
  • Researching and understanding the needs of school nutrition directors and teachers who serve our products.
  • Engaging with diverse communities and making a positive impact through creative marketing strategies.
  • Continuous learning and professional development in the field of marketing and communications.

Technical Skills

  • Graphic design required, photo and video editing experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Canva, Microsoft Office, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Fluent with LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and social media tools such as Cloud Campaign.
  • Knowledge of current trends and internet culture.

Work Ethic

  • Manage multiple projects with competing timelines and priorities.
  • Analyze situations, identify problems, and devise effective solutions.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Understand and appreciate cultural differences to enhance marketing strategies and outreach efforts.

Education

  • 3+ years of design/visual media experience OR a degree in Communications, Mass Media, Marketing, Education, Food Science, Nutrition, Community Health, or a related field.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods.
  • Some lifting (up to 30 lbs).
  • Periods of standing and/or walking.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid professional office environment with some remote work.
  • Routine use of standard office equipment like computers, cell phones, and printers.
  • Occasional night and weekend work required.
