The Director of Marketing is responsible for the strategy and execution of digital marketing programs that capture and nurture leads across multiple channels. This is the critical role to help build and execute on the corporate strategy. A primary goal of this position is to drive lead and pipeline generation, including working with the HSI website, paid search, display, social, and other paid media, along with ABM campaigns.

 

This role will work closely with other marketing leaders to effectively generate the right leads and support their buying journey. In addition, this role will provide strategic solutions across marketing channels, and assist the Sales and CSM teams by nurturing opportunities as they move through the sales cycle. You will be responsible for analyzing data, and providing ongoing research on processes and technology to understand user intent and measure outcomes for ongoing optimization.

 

Each day finds you working with campaign managers on new messaging, collaborating with sales leaders to focus targeted campaigns, adjusting bids to optimize PPC, developing landing pages for testing, improving SEO and other website elements, and reporting on metrics. You will help manage a sizeable advertising budget. The ideal candidate is very hands-on, and is excited by the challenge of working cross-functionally at a fast-paced, hyper-growth company. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you will partner closely with other marketing and sales teams to drive awareness, demand, pipeline and bookings.

 

This Director position will oversee a key segment of our overall product set, focused on training and corporate development for HR buyers at companies of any size. Knowledge of how HR and/or Learning & Development leaders work and what their needs are is key.

 

Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, this role will directly manage other marketing personnel, and various freelancers and agencies.

 

Essential Functions

  • Conceive of, plan, and execute integrated multi-media, multi-channel campaigns that attract interest, and convert prospective buyers, building an actionable lead and appointment pipeline
  • Identify and maintain target audience, ideal customer profile, and key messaging around a specific solution set and buyer audience
  • Oversee digital advertising including Google Adwords and paid social advertising
  • Work directly with Sales and CSM team members to target prospects and accounts through campaigns
  • Analyze the performance of campaigns, identifying strategic opportunities and facilitating change in order to hit and exceed expectations and KPIs
  • Ensure that KPIs related to MQL, SQL, and Opps are accurately reflected
  • Contribute heavily to how marketing measures the impact of programs and reports to the team, organization, and executives
  • Explore new marketing/advertising channels, including running demand gen-focused experiments
  • Partner with the marketing leadership team, sales leaders and executives to recommend new approaches/campaigns
  • Leverage expertise and collaborate when needed to solve complex challenges across all digital channels such as the HSI website, digital platforms and other marketing channels
  • Additional general marketing functions such as helping to manage events and tradeshows, sales collateral, email marketing, and more.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business Administration, or bachelor’s degree and commensurate work experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in marketing and Demand Generation, inclusive of managing the lead funnel
  • Experience in the online training industry, especially in the HR, soft skills, professional development topics a plus
  • Proficient in Google Ads, LinkedIn Advertising, ABM Platforms (Terminus, etc), Marketing Automation (Hubspot) and Salesforce.com
  • Proven ability to set intelligent strategic goals and accomplish through completion of associated tasks
  • Highly analytical and strong experimentation mindset with results orientation – build, test, iterate and optimize the experiments to improve the customer journey
  • Great collaborator who proactively shares actionable insights and learnings from experiments with broader team, including marketing leaders and the senior leadership team
  • Experience working with Sales and Customer Success teams to achieve results
  • Excellent communication skills to influence internal leaders, customers and external stakeholders
