The Marketing Manager, Social Media is the lead role in developing social media strategy and content, which serves as our welcoming handshake for Tillamook fans into our digital ecosystem. This role reports to and works closely with the Sr. Manager: Consumer PR + Influencer and Social Media to propose, plan, optimize and execute annual and seasonal strategies.
The Marketing Manager, Social Media partners with external agencies/contractors and internal peers to produce social media content for Tillamook platforms that’s socially native, culturally relevant and at the forefront of trends. The role will develop and maintain social tone of voice, with consultation from Brand Comms and Design teams. Additionally, this role is responsible for quarterly performance reporting for all social channels. This person collaborates with the cTLC team for community management across social media platforms.
This person has their finger on the pulse of social and cultural trends, knows the Tillamook fan inside and out, and is a critical leader of our growing marketing team.
This role will establish a leading social program at Tillamook that exudes the following:
- A home base for lasting connections with fans – fostering trust that we’re more than a CPG brand, but a quality and value-driven community.
- Drives meaningful engagement and creates content that can be easily integrated across marketing channels.
- Brings consumers into the Tillamook family by providing a behind the scenes look into the Tillamook community, spotlight fans.
- Creates integrated content to support Ecomm, Guest Acquisition, Email, Digi & Stewardship.
Here’s a day in the life:
Brand Storytelling Content Development, Management and Calendar Planning. Owns social strategy and executes Brand Storytelling on social media channels, including but not limited to:
- Managing end-to-end production to create social content featuring priority and seasonal products; weaves DTC pillars into Brand Storytelling content.
- Manages content production ensuring deliverables are on brand, on time; uses weekly meetings to connect with marketing channel leaders and discuss potential integration of content across channels.
- Collaborates with Brand Design to develop and produce social media content for Tillamook social media platforms.
- Partners with Marketing Comms Manager to develop and maintain social tone of voice and for copy/copywriting support.
- Mapping out the cadence of content with go-live dates on quarterly calendars; Scheduling all content and publishing across channels.
Brand Action & Campaign Support
- Responsible for helping ideate and strategize content needs to support brand actions. Partners with agencies/internal peers to execute social specific content aligned with overarching Brand Acts.
- Responsible for helping ideate and strategize content to support campaigns (as needed). Partners with agencies/internal peers to execute.
Stewardship Support
- Responsible for helping ideate and strategize content needs to support Tillamook Stewardship commitments, including Thriving
- Farms, Healthful Cows, Inspired Consumers, Enriched Communities, Fulfilled Employees, Enduring Ecosystems.
- Partners with agencies/internal peers to execute social specific stewardship content.
Analytics and Reporting
- Oversees performance and executes analytics reporting for each social channel (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, Pinterest) and shares out metrics and key learnings in quarterly reports. Use key learnings and findings to optimize social strategy on an ongoing basis.
- Monitor, track, and report on consumer sentiment and feedback in social media to share cross-functionally. Optimize and adjust content strategy to align with sentiment learnings on a quarterly basis.
Community Management Support
- Owns the relationship with Tillamook’s Community Management team and provide tactical support.
- Aid in Surprise & Delight opportunities when elevated by cTLC team.
- Manage proactive engagement with influencers and creators
- Owns maintenance of community management playbook to ensure it stays fresh and brand-relevant; complete Tone of Voice trainings for cTLC team as needed.
Social Media Tool Management
- Own Tillamook’s relationship with Sprinklr and/or other social media management platforms and make continuous improvements to the configuration of the tool and how we use it.
Additional responsibilities:
- Demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including listening skills.
- Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.
- Collaborate with a team and across multiple departments.
- Utilize a computer with advanced skills in Microsoft programs preferred – overall comfort with computer systems is a must.
- Work ethic and desire to expand skills and contribute to a beloved brand.
- Consumer relations support, creating marketing presentations, competitor tracking and other marketing tasks.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in social media strategy, content production and community management.
- Experience planning and leading community initiatives is a plus.
- Ability to identify and track relevant community KPIs.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
