Job Summary:
Assist the small and large group analysts in daily marketing tasks, such as: prepare/submit RFP’s, census reconciliations, team strategy meetings, spreading, presentation production, communication with carriers and account teams, etc. Will have a thorough understanding of all marketing processes. This marketing analyst role is a support role with the aim to eventually manage his/her own groups as the company continues to grow.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Consult with producers on marketing strategies with current groups
- Negotiate group rates with carriers
- Keep informed on ACA laws that impact the health insurance industry
- Stay current on carrier networks, products and services
- Assist in gathering/auditing a group census and calculating disability volumes
- Attend and contribute in pre-renewal strategy discussions for large groups
- Prepare and submit RFPs through Suvaun and other systems
- File and organize carrier proposals
- Create and peer renewal workbooks
- Print and bind renewal presentations for renewal meetings
- Generate carrier sold confirmations to submit to carriers once renewal decisions have been made
- Update group plan and rate spreadsheets for all groups
- Maintain and manage group data in Suvaun and other systems
- Shadow and learn from the small and large group analysts in how best to communicate with carrier and account teams in all situations

Qualifications
- Current California Life and Health License preferred; if unlicensed will be required to obtain within 60 days of employment

- Computer skills: Proficient in using Microsoft Office Programs, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

- Reliability – ability to report to work consistently and timely.
Education And/Or Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: At least 1-2 years’ experience to successfully perform this job.
