UServeUtah seeks a dynamic self-starter to support the Communications Manager in creating and implementing communications and marketing strategies. This individual will work independently and with a team to support the division’s mission to engage all Utahns in solving community needs through national service, volunteerism, and community engagement. This position may be filled at any of the advertised levels listed below. Salary depends on the job level offered within the series.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, and LinkedIn
  • Experience in marketing and/or communications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of public relations and/or marketing principles
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and time management skills
  • Ability to work well, both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain UServeUtah social media presence, including daily monitoring, posting, scheduling, and reviewing analytics
  • Assist in planning, writing, and managing newsletters
  • Update website using WordPress
  • Contribute to UServeUtah blog (WordPress)
  • Provide input for creative marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Design event/program fliers, graphics, and other marketing materials
  • Create online and print materials
  • Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and tools for marketing and communications
  • Plan and attend outreach events, such as setting up booths, to promote the organization and engage with the community
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferences

Preference may be given to candidate with experience in video production and website management (WordPress)

Salary

The starting salary will be $21 to $23 per hour.

Job Series

The selected candidate for this position may be brought in as a Program Specialist I with a salary range of $19.28-$33.14 per hour with the potential to move to a Program Specialist II with a salary range of $23.30-$34.99 per hour.

Work Location

This position may be eligible for a hybrid/flexible work schedule. Our office is located 3760 S. Highland Dr., Millcreek, UT 84106. A position’s eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason. Note: Under Administrative Rule R13-4 all work must be performed within the State of Utah. As such employees should either reside in Utah or be in the process of relocating to within 30 days of their start date.
