Nib Travel (Word Nomads) is looking for a Marketing Specialist to join our growing team in Oakland, CA.
As Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting global brand activities and Americas marketing campaigns for the World Nomads brand. You will contribute to projects and activities that facilitate customer acquisition, engagement and retention, to drive revenue growth and increase marketing partnership engagement in the Americas and where applicable World Nomads global campaigns.

Let’s talk about this role
- Develop, execute and manage global and Americas regional and multi-platform campaigns, and other programs to engage new customers and position the World Nomads brand as the preferred travel insurance provider.
- Assist the Senior Manager – Digital Performance (Global) with briefing and execution tasks related to creatives for global paid campaign efforts
- Assist Senior Manager – Marketing (Americas) with regional campaign execution across social, email and trade marketing channels where needed.
- Identify, pitch, develop and nurture brand partnerships and sponsors for co-marketing campaigns
- Report on key outcomes (engagement, social distribution and commercial impact) of regional, global and partner campaign activities with input from key stakeholders.
- Manage bi-weekly newsletter content, quarterly product email campaigns and always-on subscriber onboarding for World Nomads.
- Work with the email marketing team to brief and map onboarding journeys of new leads acquired from global and regional lead generation campaigns.
- Oversee organic social media strategy execution, reporting and optimization
- Develop monthly calendar of social posts across key platforms and schedule posts within Sprout Social
- Develop and/or brief creative assets for social and email in conjunction with Editorial and Marketing Design teams
- Assist partnerships team with regional trade marketing opportunities including paid lead generation campaigns, creative asset development, landing page development and trade event execution
Let’s talk about you
- 3+ years’ experience working in a similar marketing role with proven understanding of digital marketing and the digital creative processes.
- Analytical and commercials skills and ability to interpret data (e.g. GA4) and provide actionable insight
- Experience and deep understanding of social media and community engagement, ideally working knowledge of social media management tools such as Sprout Social
- Proactive nature and independent drive to achieve results and an eye for detail
- Preferred understanding of Affiliate Marketing and/or SEOPreferred experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- The ability to work within a team environment and accountable for results achieved
- Openness to learn the travel insurance industry and use that knowledge to inform campaign ideas that drive commercial results
- Loves travel and feel passionately about how it changes people’s lives.
- Are a team player with flexible attitude – ability to work independently, as well as in a team
- Self-motivated with a high attention to details
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Must be deadline-driven and able to multi-task with solid organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills. Ability to approach brands and travel industry professionals to pitch marketing collaboration ideas
- Able to prioritise workload and adapt to the change of business requirements
- Ideally have a Degree in Marketing, Communications or related areas of study
- Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, email marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
- Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite, especially with Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in the travel or insurance industry beneficial
