The Product Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating engaging content/messaging for various marketing assets and the company’s social media platforms.
An integral member of the Marketing team, this position requires an organized, deadline-driven strategic and creative thinker with attention to detail. The ideal candidate would stay informed of new media trends and is able to monitor industry activity while connecting with targeted audiences.
S/he will collaborate closely with the marketing and product development teams to create content, analyze performance metrics, and drive brand awareness and sales .
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
- Develop content/messaging for products and sales segments in accordance with the timelines of marketing campaigns and product launches.
- Maintain social media engagement results in accordance with annual percentage goals.
- Support and maintain product training materials/videos for use by sales and marketing initiatives according to their respective timelines.
Essential Functions
- Content Creation and Management:
- Generate compelling, high-quality content (text, images, videos) for use in multi-channel marketing campaigns, social media platforms, and technical training.
- Work with marketing campaign calendar and other departments as necessary to make sure content is relevant, informative, engaging, and timely.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure brand guideline adherence and consistent branding and messaging.
- Upload assets to the company’s YouTube channel and digital asset management platform (DAM) as needed.
- Social Media Strategy and Engagement:
- Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification.
- Engage with audiences across social media channels, fostering community interaction and building brand awareness and loyalty.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Campaign Execution:
- Plan and execute daily/monthly posts and campaigns on social media to drive traffic and leads and increase brand awareness.
- Collaborate with influencers or brand ambassadors to expand reach and engagement.
- Handle social media marketing at tradeshows, trainings, and other events.
- Analytics and Reporting:
- Track and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
- Prepare regular reports detailing insights, trends, and recommendations for optimization.
- Other duties as required by business needs.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (graphic design experience preferred). Required 3–5 years relevant professional experience in product marketing and social media management.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, product positioning, and messaging strategies.
- Excellent copywriting and photo/video editing skills.
- Strong understanding of various social media platforms, their algorithms, and best practices.
- Demonstrable experience using social media management tools and analytics platforms (Hootsuite, GA4 or similar).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Express, Photoshop, Premier Pro).
- Knowledge of email marketing platforms (Constant Contact or similar).
- Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative ideas.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with limited direction.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills – fluent in English.
- Positive attitude with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to take direction and work in a collaborative environment.
