Overview

As the Product Marketing Specialist for our security cameras product vertical, you will be responsible for envisioning, developing and maintaining Verkada’s technical documentation–a critical bridge in conveying our product’s capabilities to the market. You will also be responsible for assisting in product launches and ensuring that technical features are accurately reflected in both internal and public-facing materials. As a Technical Marketing Manager, you will contribute to how the company and the public view and understand the importance of the products and features we build. This role is highly cross-functional and will require working closely with key stakeholders across the product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams.

In addition to owning technical documentation and messaging, you will also be integral in developing the collateral needed to support video security product launches and invent new ways for teams across Verkada to reach and communicate with existing and prospective customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop positioning, messaging and gain a wide understanding of technical video security features
  • Own technical messaging and collateral creation for new camera launches, new camera initiatives, new strategic partner and technology integration programs to demonstrate the benefits of Verkada’s constantly-improving, expanding platform
  • Create competitively differentiated messaging for the video security product line based on user research, market insights, and product knowledge.
  • Work closely with the product and engineering teams to develop datasheets, solution overviews, knowledge base articles, release notes and other documentation to help customers understand our products’ technical details.
  • Work closely with the Creative team to increase market presence, maintain our video security webpages and drive pipeline through key outbound assets (video, webinars, etc).
  • Partner with the sales enablement teams to effectively position our products, leveraging internal tools and developing assets that help improve win rates.
  • Become a video security subject matter expert, evangelist and cross-functional contributor who unites marketing, sales, customer success, product, and engineering teams to drive business results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. A degree or experience working in a technical field (e.g., computer science, engineering) is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong ability to write technically for various audiences. An enjoyment of writing is a plus!
  • Ability to work with Product Management and Engineering to understand the technicalities of features in a product launch and connect it with market imperatives.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with teams including Product, Engineering, Sales, Creative, and Marketing.
  • Ability to drive creative and content efforts across the marketing organization.
  • Ability to maintain strong organization skills, absorb frequent product updates and weave them into existing messaging across multiple documents.
