The Senior Copywriter will oversee and refine our brand messaging across all marketing efforts. This role is pivotal in shaping our content strategy and ensuring consistency in our voice across digital, traditional, and in-store mediums. You will lead a team and collaborate directly with the Creative Director to drive high-quality, persuasive content that resonates with our audience, strengthens brand loyalty and aligns with Cavender’s brand objectives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong creative vision, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of content strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy to align with Cavender’s brand voice across all marketing channels.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team, including overseeing their workloads and professional development.
- Ensure consistent and accurate brand messaging across all customer touchpoints, including digital, traditional, and in-store channels.
- Oversee the creation of compelling content for product launches, marketing campaigns, and other customer interactions.
- Manage all copy needs, including reviewing and refining product descriptions, marketing materials, and vendor-supplied content.
- Conduct industry research and stay updated on trends to ensure content relevance and effectiveness.
- Optimize content for SEO to enhance online visibility and drive web traffic.
- Collaborate with marketing, eCommerce, and social media teams to ensure on-brand and engaging content across platforms.
- Develop and enforce style guides and content standards to maintain consistency.
- Edit and proofread content for grammatical accuracy and alignment with brand voice.
- Handle revisions and edits based on feedback from internal teams or clients.
- Contribute to content planning and strategy to support Cavender’s marketing objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in copywriting and editing for both print and digital media.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team.
- Familiarity with the retail or e-commerce industries is a plus.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of writing samples, including marketing campaigns and content for various media channels.
- Excellent understanding of SEO principles and social media marketing.
- Exceptional creativity, strategic thinking, and adaptability.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong research skills and the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, concise, and engaging content.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also thriving in an independent role.
- Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and creativity.
- Experience in developing and adhering to style guides.
- Capable of maintaining focus and managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Based in Tyler, TX, willing to work on-site at Cavender’s home office.
