The Social Media Senior Lead will play a critical role in shaping and advancing ZS’s organic social media presence. This role is responsible for building the editorial plan, leading execution, and coaching a small team of social media talent to deliver high quality, consistent, and effective social storytelling.
As a member of the Marketing & Communications team, reporting into the head of digital, content & experience, this individual will work cross-functionally with content, creative, digital, growth marketing, communications and brand to amplify ZS thought leadership, strengthen brand visibility, grow demand and attract new talent.
What You’ll Do
Lead social media editorial planning
- Partner with Marketing & Communications leadership to set goals, priorities, and success measures. This includes improving brand positioning, growing demand, and attracting talent
- Drive the alignment of social promotions to GTM priorities/themes and audience strategies, ensuring content is relevant, timely and engaging
- Own the organic social channel strategy, defining the role of each channel, content mix, and publishing approach as it evolves over time and in alignment with LLM strategies
- Create, review and refine high quality social copy and creative to ensure it is engaging, clear, credible, on brand and in alignment with social media best practices
- Manage and coach a small group of social media team members to ensure their work aligns with the strategy and goals set forth
Partner across the marketing & communications team
- Be the “go-to” expert on organic social, working hand-in-hand with marcomm SMEs to plan and execute an effective social strategy in alignment with broader campaign goals
- Work closely with design and content and teams elevate our organic social media presence. Align organic social with other channel strategies, including paid social and media
- Monitor engagement on the platform, responding to posts in alignment with corporate brand and working in close collaboration with our communications team on any necessary escalations
- Help establish repeatable processes, playbooks, and standards for social media execution that are shared and used across the team
Manage engagement and performance
- Oversee community management, including building increased business followers, monitoring comments, mentions, and messages
- Track and report on performance, providing insights on reach, engagement, and audience growth, demonstrating quarterly improvements
- Use data and trends to continuously refine content, formats, and publishing approaches
Experience
- 10+ years of marketing experience with at least 7 years in B2B social media
- Demonstrated success owning social media strategy, planning & execution
- Experience coaching or informally leading other team members
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas, drive engagement and build demand for ZS
- Strong understanding and experience working on social platforms for professional audiences
- Sound judgment around brand voice, risk, and reputation
- Recognized for applying emerging social media practices in practical, results‑driven ways
- Proven experience using social media management and analytics tools
- Collaborative and comfortable working in a matrixed, global organization
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
- A forward‑thinking social media expert who actively monitors B2B best practices, anticipating platform and audience shifts.
- Ability to flex schedule to work early morning hours to collaborate with team in India.
