We are seeking a full-time Senior Retail Marketing Associate in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with various sales and marketing leadership to develop point-of-sale (POS) and/or in-store marketing materials for global distribution that help consumers to easily locate products, understand the product’s features and benefits, and result in sales and revenue.
Essential Functions
- Leads strategies, objectives, and large programs for the full product life cycle projects
- Serves as an expert for assigned retail account’s strategies, objectives, store requirements and logistics
- Leads onsite marketing discussions and conference calls for assigned national retail accounts with their Manager, Sales Director and/or Sales Manager
- Manages all aspects and critical timeline path including concept development, facilitates internal and external program approvals, oversees the production and implementation of materials in stores
- Ensures Garmin’s products and services are presented in a manner that is consistent with Garmin’s global brand requirements
- Ensures a cohesive campaign experience between the customers in store and online solutions
- Leads internal and/or external Cross Functional Teams to execute the programs on time, within budget and ensures they are dealer compliant
- Leads external merchandising suppliers to co-develop concepts and negotiates costs, conducts factory tours, and ensures accurate, on-time, quality materials
- Serves as an expert regarding the retail landscape for assigned retail accounts and conducts retail market tours, shares findings, proposes incremental business opportunities and takes timely corrective actions
- Stays knowledgeable of current and upcoming marketing trends and offers recommendations to meet the needs of new market trends
- Attends sales meetings, trade shows or promotional events as needed with offsite business travel required
- Assists with training new Retail Marketing Associate team members on retail accounts, software, processes, and procedures
- Attends meetings for Retail Marketing leadership when requested
- Ensures the technology is simple for consumers to understand while allowing them to experience our product offerings
- Approves technical POS solutions for Retail Marketing leadership upon request
- Works with external suppliers to produce technical POS solutions, approve prototypes, negotiate costs, participate in factory tours, and ensures accurate, on-time, quality materials
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business, Project Management or related field AND a minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, operations, and/or project management OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Demonstrates proficient use and knowledge of marketing and project management tools
- Proven track record of successful in-store retail marketing solutions, consistently delivered on time and on budget
- Ability to create and maintain cohesive relationships with customers, suppliers, and Garmin associates
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail and quality assurance
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Jira, Tableau and Oracle or related software
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to understand retail merchant terminology
- Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques

- Must possess technical knowledge on how to successfully implement consumer electronic live products, product ecosystems, interactive demos, commercial grade video monitors, commercial grade touch screen monitors, powered security brackets, lighted retail solutions and other technical solutions at retail
- Experience developing technical retail marketing solutions in global markets
