About The Team And The Role
eBay connects millions of enthusiasts, buyers, and sellers across the globe. Within eBay, the Motors Marketing team powers the awareness and consideration of the marketplace for Parts & Accessories (P&A) and Vehicles. As the Social Media Lead, Motors, you will define and elevate our social presence, building engaging experiences that resonate with automotive audiences across both established and emerging platforms. You will report to the Head of Brand, Motors, and collaborate closely with Brand Marketing, Media, Comms, Creative, and Performance Marketing teams to drive integrated campaigns, community engagement, and measurable business impact. This role offers the opportunity to shape the social voice of one of eBay’s most dynamic categories, with creative freedom, high visibility, and strong cross-functional partnership.
What You Will Accomplish
- Lead the development and execution of eBay’s P&A and Vehicles (Motors) social media strategy, creating content that grows audience engagement and community across all channels.
- Translate business goals into measurable social and influencer campaigns, leveraging analytics to optimize content performance and audience reach.
- Partner with internal teams and agencies to ideate, brief, and execute creative campaigns that align with marketing initiatives, seasonal calendars, and cultural moments.
- Drive on-the-ground activations at key automotive events, ensuring campaigns resonate with enthusiast communities and generate measurable buzz.
- Build and nurture an engaged automotive community, fostering authentic connections with followers, influencers, and enthusiasts.
- Mentor and guide team members, including community managers, to strengthen internal social media capabilities and best practices.
What You Will Bring
- 6+ years of experience in social media management, ideally in automotive, lifestyle, or ecommerce brands.
- Strong expertise in social media strategy, analytics, paid social campaigns, and influencer marketing.
- Proven ability to plan and manage budgets, resources, and cross-functional projects end-to-end.
- Creative, self-starting mindset with the ability to generate innovative content ideas that drive engagement and business results.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience aligning internal teams and external agencies toward shared goals.
- Flexible and adaptable, staying current with emerging social media trends, technologies, and best practices, with occasional travel to events.
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$104,400 – $139,400
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
