Purple Wave Auction is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Marketing Intern to join our dynamic marketing team. This hands-on internship offers real-world experience in social media strategy, content creation, and community management. The ideal candidate is passionate about digital marketing, particularly social media, can work in a fast-paced ever-changing environment, has strong communication skills, and is eager to learn in a collaborative environment.
As our Social Media Marketing Intern, you’ll work directly with our social media marketing manager to develop and execute content strategies while gaining valuable industry experience.

Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive content calendars tailored to specific industries.
- Create original graphics, copy, and video content following brand guidelines.
- Schedule and post content across multiple platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook).
- Monitor and respond to community engagement.
- Research trending topics and hashtags relevant to our industries and customers.
- Assist with graphic design, basic video editing, and copywriting.
- Present findings and recommendations to the marketing team.
- Undertake additional assigned duties as requested.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- None.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their unique audiences.
- Basic skills in graphic design and content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
- Basic skills in video/reels production (Capcut, Premiere, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Portfolio or examples of social media content creation, especially video/reels(preferred).
- Spanish speaking bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates may be requested to complete position specific skills assessments.
- Applicants must be either a U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
- Requires the ability to satisfactorily complete a background check.
Working Settings:.
- Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime.
- Internship scheduled to run from hire date until August 2026.
- Preferred minimum 20 hours per week, schedule to be determined in agreement with the manager during Purple Wave’s office hours of 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday.
- Based in the Purple Wave headquarters in Manhattan, KS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
Compensation
- Hourly rate starting at least $14.00 per hour.
- Monthly Bonus Program at 50% level – determined by the Company’s monthly revenue result and are paid on a “percent to plan” payout formula (90% = $150, 100% = $300, 110% = $450, 120% = $600).
