- Preferred two years of professional experience managing social media channels and creating short-form and long-form video content.
- Proficiency editing with Adobe Creative Suite products (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign) and similar tools including Capcut, Canva and in-app social editing tools.
- Subject matter expert on social media trends and platform-native content creation, prioritizing video creation on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
- Strong visual eye and understanding of composition (lighting, angles, negative space, photo clarity/depth of frame)
- Experience creating GIFS and animation preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Develop impactful social-first content that captures and conveys the University’s story
- Edit photos and videos using advanced multimedia software as well as phone editing apps and in-app social media editing tools
- Pivot quickly to create and deploy content in response to trends, real-time events and institutional priorities
- Ensure content aligns with University brand standards, accessibility guidelines and design best practices
- Coordinate and facilitate photo and video shoots to support content creation needs
- Proactively source content ideas and monitor campus calendar to support timely and strategic content planning
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the department
Social Media Management
- Stay up to date on social media trends, emerging platforms and algorithm changes and recommend timely adjustments to strategies
- Monitor social media metrics, analyze performance and make data-backed creative recommendations to optimize content and strategy
- Manage online communities by monitoring conversations, responding to comments and messages, and fostering meaningful engagement
Event Support
- Assist with on-campus and off-campus events by capturing live content and supporting production as needed.
Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the department, including serving as support for marketing photography and videography needs.
