Position Summary
The Social Media Specialist will play a pivotal role in ESRT’s digital presence through social media storytelling across real estate/leasing, corporate news, events, ESG initiatives, and other brand priorities. Reporting directly to the Social Media Strategist this position supports ESRT’s identity as a NYC-focused REIT and proud owner of the iconic Empire State Building. This role owns day-to-day publishing execution, manages content calendar workflows, partners closely with internal stakeholders to develop platform-native content, and delivers reporting and insights to improve channel performance over time.
Responsibilities
CORPORATE SOCIAL CONTENT & PUBLISHING:
- Own day-to-day publishing across ESRT social channels, including copy development, asset selection, link creation, scheduling, and quality assurance
- Maintain the ESRT publishing calendar and ensure content is delivered on time and aligned with brand priorities
- Translate corporate initiatives into platform-native content across LinkedIn
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with leasing, marketing, ESG, and corporate communications teams to develop social content that supports business initiatives and brand visibility
- Coordinate approvals, timelines, and content inputs from internal stakeholders
- Ensure all social content reflects ESRT’s corporate voice, brand standards, and messaging priorities
Campaign & Initiative Support
- Support social execution for corporate campaigns, leasing announcements, leadership appearances, events, and major company milestones
- Translate campaign objectives into social publishing plans and editorial content
Performance Reporting & Insights
- Monitor performance across ESRT social channels and identify opportunities to improve engagement and reach
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports highlighting key trends, performance insights, and content recommendations
- Provide feedback to inform future content development and editorial priorities
Platform Optimization
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of LinkedIn and Instagram platform best practices
- Recommend enhancements to improve performance, audience growth, and visibility with key audiences including brokers, tenants, and investors
Operational Support
- Maintain accuracy of public-facing information across social platforms when updates are required
- Support other social media initiatives as directed to advance team and organizational goals
What Success Looks Like
- Brand Alignment: Establish clear and consistent brand message across all ESRT social media platforms as well as with influencer visits to the Observatory
- Strategic Content Calendar: Develop a robust content calendar that reflects marketing goals and ensures timely execution
- Engagement Growth: Achieve measurable increases in social media engagement metrics, including followers, likes, shares, and overall reach
- Innovative Campaigns: Create social media series that resonate with business partners, such as brokers and tenants, that drives deeper engagement
- Influencer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with influencers and brand partners, that result in successful collaborations and increased visibility
- Accuracy and Credibility: Ensure all public information is accurate, maintaining audience trust and brand credibility
- Creative Content: Deliver innovative content that strengthens brand recognition and resonates with the target audience
- Budget Efficiency: Effectively manage the influencer relations and social media budget to maximize ROI and drive sustainable growth
Required Skills / Abilities
- Detail-oriented and results-driven with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of personnel
- Identify opportunities to responsibly incorporate AI-enabled tools into social media workflows to improve efficiency, insight generation, and content development while maintaining brand quality, accuracy, and editorial oversight
Education & Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in social media & digital marketing
- Familiarity with key social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, and TikTok is required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

$65,000 – $75,000 a year
Salary is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, job location, size of property where applicable, and/or certifications. In addition to your base salary, ESRT provides discretionary annual bonuses.
