Summary

The Sr. Brand Marketing Specialist will support the strategy, creative development, and execution of acquisition-focused marketing campaigns across NRG’s portfolio of retail electricity brands.
This role will help build compelling creative that attracts new customers and ensures each brand is effectively differentiated in a competitive market. The Sr. Specialist will collaborate closely with agencies, Brand Strategy, Product Development, Go-To-Market and Legal/Regulatory teams to bring campaigns to life and optimize them based on performance. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Brand Marketing.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of multi-media creative campaigns that drive customer acquisition for the Direct Energy and Cirro brands.
  • Support the creative development process, from strategy, briefing, pre-production, production, and post-production, ensuring campaigns align with brand identity and resonate with target audiences.
  • Serve as a liaison with external creative agencies, coordinating the development of marketing campaign assets, delivering constructive feedback on behalf of internal stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships, and reviewing creative performance to guide optimizations.
  • Support creation of video content for paid media by providing feedback on concepts, scripts, visuals, production, and post-production.
  • Review and provide creative input on the creation of all paid marketing assets, both digital and traditional.
  • Oversee the design and updates of social media headers, homepage banners, and landing pages to ensure alignment with current marketing campaigns for all brands.
  • Assist in managing campaign timelines, deliverables, and approvals across multiple stakeholders.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide insights to inform creative optimizations.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with Brand Strategy, Go-to-Market, Product Development, Legal, and Customer Marketing teams to ensure campaigns are compliant, consistent, and effective.
  • Conduct market and competitive research to inform creative strategies and ensure brand differentiation.
  • Act as a brand steward, ensuring all acquisition materials reflect brand voice, tone, and positioning.

Required Skills And Experience

  • 5-7 years of marketing or brand experience, with a focus on creative campaign development or customer acquisition.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for creative detail.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and recommend creative optimizations.
  • Experience working with or managing creative agencies preferred.
  • Background in subscription-based or competitive industries (energy, telecom, internet, etc.) a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field required.
