The Senior Manager, Client Marketing Strategy is responsible for delivering marketing and loyalty programs for assigned client portfolios, combining data-driven insights, pre-existing marketing strategies, and client partner expertise to drive a holistic, profitable marketing calendar that delivers value for our cardmembers, client partners and our organization.
This client facing role guides acquisition and portfolio marketing strategies that drive mutually beneficial growth in New Accounts, Accounts Receivable, Credit Sales and Profit. The Senior Manager collaborates with their immediate leader, Account Teams and the Marketing Center of Excellence to shape annual and quarterly Marketing decisions and strategies, secures budgets, and gains ongoing investment approval while working closely with Account team to maximize overall program growth and profitability. The Senior Marketing Manager also has to balance the strategic and tactical requirements in delivering the annual marketing plan as well as individual campaigns or initiatives. Demonstrates deep financial industry, client partner, and product knowledge, providing guidance and tactics in combining both scaled and custom marketing campaigns, managing allocation of internal resources based on program value and delivering on expected KPIs for Bread Financial programs. Essential Job Functions
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management: Responsible for the design, build and execution of an annual marketing strategy that satisfies both client and portfolio objectives in collaboration with Acquisition and ECM Marketing teams to achieve Bread Financial organizational objectives and overall profit measures. Leverages strong client and Account Team relationships to advocate for and implement new marketing capabilities and channels with individual clients; offering the right solutions at the right time. Serves as an initial escalation point for marketing-related issues that arise through the normal course of the relationship. Works with Executive leadership and C-level internal partners. May work with C-Level external partners in collaboration with Account teams, as needed.
Marketing Standards & KPIs: Oversees use of marketing funds for individual clients and ensures strong annual marketing plans that meet stated objectives and KPIs. Must be able to convey point of view in a manner that is broadly understood. Ability to drive results and set priorities. Develops ongoing business intelligence, standards, and campaign hindsights to advise necessary changes to marketing strategies. Develops effective proof points to secure investment in new marketing strategies and to sell marketing plans into brand partners, with participation of Account Team partner.
Marketing Planning: Provides expertise and oversees marketing planning (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for assigned clients, optimizing program performance. Develops and gains approval for joint marketing funds and manages ongoing campaign and financial reviews. Supports leader and Finance to develop annual volume forecasts for assigned clients and tracks against budget, advising on changes in strategy and/or investment needed to achieve annual budget. Manages expectations with the business.
Marketing Execution: Supports work across the business with cross-functional teams to ensure business processes are working efficiently and effectively. Strives to remove roadblocks when necessary. Utilizes critical thinking skills to help analyze business issues, collaborates with stakeholders to resolve problems, is strategic, and gains consensus on the best solution.
Compliance: Serves as first line of defense, overseeing adherence to bank compliance standards related to program branding across bank channels and capabilities and clients’ omni-channel marketing materials. Supports Marketing Strategist or below with escalated issues and/or remediation.
Campaign Performance: Responsible for internal alignment on marketing investment decisions. Leads team to navigate matrixed organization to optimize marketing performance supporting assigned clients, maximizing return on investment, and portfolio KPIs.
Talent Development: Provides coaching to Marketing Manager and below associates. Creates mentoring opportunities for learning and development. Conducts touch bases with direct reports on a regular basis to cascade information. Works with associates to create development plans based on their goals and level of performance. Guides associate behavior by leading with and demonstrating attitudinal leadership. Demonstrates leadership by training of peers and/or direct reports and being viewed as a knowledge resource within the department.
Collaboration and Communication: Builds relationships by establishing trust, confidence and credibility with senior leaders, executives, and regulatory bodies. Prioritizes efforts on critical initiatives and works to identify opportunities and problem solve. Utilizes critical thinking skills to help analyze business issues, collaborates with stakeholders to resolve problems, and gains consensus on the best solution. Communicates broader business strategy to team members, and conveys opportunities for departmental contributions to the business strategy. Demonstrates outstanding relationship management using effective verbal and written communication skills. Applies the art of persuasion, negotiates, facilitates, and presents information in an articulate, professional, and digestible manner.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements
- This position is hybrid with an onsite schedule of 3-4 days per month. In-office requirements are subject to change based on business needs. This position is currently available to candidates that reside within 60 miles of Columbus, OH; Chadds Ford, PA; Plano, TX; Draper, UT; Wilmington, DE; or New York, NY.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Project Management, Business Management or related field
- Seven or more year work experience in Marketing Strategy, Marketing Segmentation, Credit/Payments, Managing Test and Control, Analyzing Marketing Campaign Data, Leading a Team or related experience
Preferred Experience
- Master’s Degree in Marketing, Finance, Project Management, Business Management or related field

Typical Starting Range
$120,500.00 – $218,300.00
Full Salary Range For Position
California: $138,600.00 – $272,900.00
Colorado: $120,500.00 – $229,200.00
New York: $132,500.00 – $272,900.00
Washington: $126,500.00 – $251,100.00
The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
