The Product Marketing team at BILL is the driving force behind bringing products to market and growing their impact on customers and the business. We represent the voice of the customer before, during, and after launch. Our role is to articulate product value in a way that resonates with customers, differentiates against the competition, and drives adoption, retention, and advocacy.
At BILL, Product Marketing partners closely with Product, Support, Sales, Customer Success, Brand, Growth, Creative, and Legal, making it a highly dynamic and influential function. As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for shaping strategy and driving execution across the full go-to-market (GTM) lifecycle while supporting growth in key business metrics.
This role will focus on developing strategies and programs to drive acquisition and retention, partnering across Marketing, Product, Sales, and Customer Success. You will be the voice of the customer in roadmap discussions, create differentiated positioning and messaging, and orchestrate effective GTM launches. You’ll also lead core functions such as competitive analysis, market research, and customer advocacy. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver against business metrics and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive go-to-market (GTM) strategies that deliver on business goals by solving customer problems and translating insights into executable plans.
- Quickly develop deep product expertise and understanding of customer workflows, partnering with Product to influence roadmap and feature development.
- Serve as a customer champion, turning insights about needs, journeys, and segments into messaging and programs that resonate.
- Lead audience segmentation, positioning, and messaging, creating compelling product narratives that guide all GTM efforts.
- Own GTM leadership, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, securing resources, and supporting effective launches.
- Manage end-to-end projects, ensuring alignment and execution across highly matrixed teams.
- Partner with Sales to deliver enablement content, tools, and processes that drive adoption, address competition, and support new capabilities.
We’d Love To Chat If You Have
- 8+ years of professional experience in Product Marketing (or closely related role), with direct experience at the Senior Product Marketing Manager level.
- Proven experience in B2B SaaS and/or fintech.
- A track record of successful product and feature launches, including developing positioning, messaging, and GTM strategy.
- Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation, and translating findings into actionable strategies.
- Strong strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to work closely with market research and analytics teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing sales enablement tools and presenting to leadership.
- Experience managing complex projects end-to-end in a highly matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience in payments or enterprise segment marketing.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt strategies in dynamic environments.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to operate independently and proactively.
- Skilled in storytelling and presentation, with the ability to engage both internal and external audiences.
- Collaborative working style, with a proven ability to build alignment across Product, Sales, and Marketing.
This hybrid role requires in-office work (Mon, Tues, Thurs) at either our San Jose, CA or Draper, UT office. Candidates must be U.S. work authorized with no current or future sponsorship needs and live within 45 miles of one of these locations or relocate by the start date. Fully remote work is not available for this position.
The estimated salary range for this role is noted below for our San Jose based role. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.
San Jose pay range
$140,800—$176,000 USD
The estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper, UT. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL’s bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.
Draper UT pay range
$119,700—$149,700 USD
