The Role

The Vice President of Marketing is the USO’s brand steward and strategic marketing leader. You’ll shape and deliver a compelling brand story that inspires donors, partners, volunteers, and the public. From digital strategy to brand partnerships, you’ll drive growth, elevate visibility, and ensure our message is consistent and powerful worldwide.


What You’ll Do

  • Set and execute the USO’s global marketing strategy, aligning goals with organizational priorities
  • Strengthen and protect the brand, ensuring consistency across all platforms and campaigns
  • Lead integrated growth marketing initiatives, including partnerships and collaborations
  • Oversee creative development, messaging, and multi-channel campaigns that drive engagement
  • Use market research and analytics to identify audiences and optimize performance
  • Partner closely with fundraising and program teams to support donor acquisition and mission growth
  • Direct marketing operations and digital platforms to maximize efficiency and reach
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering creativity and accountability

What We’re Looking For

  • 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership, including 7+ years leading teams
  • Nonprofit experience required; global, multicultural, or military-related experience strongly preferred
  • Expertise in brand management, cause marketing, digital strategy, and data-driven decision making
  • Track record of building teams, launching campaigns, and delivering measurable results
  • Strong strategic, creative, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at the executive level
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required
